| swathed in ever-light | fantasy is endless fantasy has no limited form ![]() General Information Announcement : 05 . 09 . 07 @ SEP07 Platform : PlayStation Portable Media : Universal Media Disc Genre : Action Release Schedule [ JPN ] December 18th, 2008 [ NAR ] tba [ PAL ] tba Dissidia Staff Yōsuke Shiokawa game director Tetsuya Nomura character design Yoshitaka Amano title logo design Takeharu Ishimoto game composer Dissidia Storyline Only small details in regard to Dissidia's plot have been revealed since Square Enix Party 2007. In Dissidia, characters from their respective Final Fantasy games are summoned by the the two beings shown in the logo. Cosmos, Goddess of Order, summons heroes to repel the forces of Chaos that have plagued and overtaken Dissidia's universe. Chaos, not to be outdone, has enlisted the aid of villians from the multiple Final Fantasy games. Dissidia is Latin for "to disagree", and is indicative of the game's heroes and villians in conflict. While the creators are trying to include as many memorable characters as they can, it is said that ten heroes and ten villians may appear. In information obtained from Tokyo Game Show 2007, it was said that the world was made twelve times, and was about to be remade for the thirteenth. Dissidia Gameplay Straight from the horse's mouth, Square-Enix describes Dissidia : Final Fantasy to be a "dramatic progressive action" title. One could say "dramatic" for the dramatic way the battles transpire, with dialogue and cutscenes interweaved within bouts of gameplay. "Progressive" in that characters will be able to gain experience and levels based on performance in combat. And finally, "Action" to summarize that the game will feature a brawler-esque battle system in which characters have movesets to unleash upon an enemy or enemies. Brawls will take place in fully three-dimensional and destructible envrionments. Players will also be able to buy equipment ( probably with Gil ) to further customize and upgrade their character. Some battle mechanics include: a "HIT POINT" meter we assume for HP or health, a BRAVE meter which is still somewhat of a mystery, and a short and close range toggle which may expand available movesets to accomodate said factors. Control Schema: L | Lock On R | Guard R + Cross | Dodge Pad | Camera Stick | Movement Triangle | Action Circle | BRAVE Attack Cross | Jump Square | HP Attack / EX Burst Square + Cross | EX Mode Notes : Lock On can be toggled on and off with the L button. Holding R down will guard, and pressing X will make the character dodge to evade attacks. The D-Pad will control the camera whilst the Stick is reserved for character movement. Unknown if these can be switched at this time. Triangle is Action, to execute an interactive action like wall-running or environment manipulation. This can only be executed at certain spots with an icon. Circle is a BRAVE attack, which if it connects, will reduce an enemy's BRAVE. Cross ( or X ) is jump. Square is a standard attack that drains HP, and will execute an EX Burst if the character is in EX Mode. Square and cross buttons together enters a character into EX Mode. It is assumed that in this state, powerful "limit" maneuvers can be executed. Characters will also have costume changes. So far, a "Luneth" from FFIII DS costume change was confirmed for Onion Knight, as are Squall's SeeD uniform, and Firion with a red cape, all borrowed from different designs from Amano, Nomura, and Yoshida throughout the years. Summoned monsters from the series can be uitilized during battle to invoke various effects; confirmed thus far: Carbuncle : Reflects current BRAVE onto opponent. Ifrit : Increases BRAVE by x1.5 EX MODE + EX BURST Warrior of Light Class-change from Fighter to Warrior, EX BURST unseen. Garland Mashing the Circle button induces a heavy-hitting combo attack. Firion EX MODE + EX BURST unseen. Emperor EX MODE + EX BURST unseen. Onion Knight Class-change into Ninja or Sage, in EX BURST select a spell or item to throw in a menu. Cloud of Darkness Shown as the original green palette swap, EX BURST unseen. Cecil Class change from Dark Night to Paladin, EX BURST unseen. Golbez Fusion with Shadow Dragon, EX BURST unseen. Bartz EX MODE + EX BURST unseen. Exdeath Transforms into tree form, EX BURST uses the power of Void. Terra Transforms into Esper form, EX BURST unseen. Kefka EX MODE + EX BURST unseen. Cloud EX MODE + EX BURST unseen. Sephiroth EX MODE + EX BURST unseen. Squall Renzokuken, hitting the trigger as it flashes across screen. Tidus EX BURST is Overdrive Blitz Ace. Jecht EX MODE resembles Braska's Final Aeon, EX BURST unseen. Dissidia Arenas Two locations in which battles commenced were show in the SEP07 trailer. One of which appeared to be a large castle area, which is rumored to be Cornelia Castle from the original Final Fantasy, and Memoria from Final Fantasy IX, particularly the final area in which the party commences the final battles. Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Lol, I see Garland and Warrior of Light next to each other. And Kuja and Zidane. Sephiroth.... I bet ya'll know what I'm hoping for. If "he" is in here, against Sephiroth, then this will be like a merge of my 2 favorite games ever - FF7 and Tekken. Dissidia is definitely near the top of my wish list. |

| (E)motion Isn't Meaning | Honestly it looks kinda crappy, both the Bouncer and DoC prove that SE can't pull off action games to an above average calibre and from this trailer i am wholly unimpressed... Sure the debate on 'lol whose stronger, Cloud or Squall' can finally be solved but quite frankly it looks like a cross breed of Mario 64, SSB and Tekken, which = me unimpressed |

| BBS ftw! | Nacht?! LFMAO!! Whoever came up with that name, I worship. xD Hilarious. Okay anyways, Squall has been seen FIGHTING against Sephiroth. So maybe, Cloud is not in it? xD That would be great. But my guess is that Cloud is a secret character. |
