I can't believe so few people know about this.

Anyways, this will prob. be the best pokemon handheld game to date. As you know, the Pokemon franchise is one of the most popular nintendo franchises, and has never realy been unaccepted by public. Fun, addictive, RPG.

These two new games are hitting the Nintendo DS with a fourth generation of pokemon.

It will also be able to communicate with Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, Fire Red, Leaf Green, and Emerald.

More info:
Takes place in a new area, called Shinou, in which you start in Futaba Town. (names subject to change for the Enlish version). It will contain both new and old pokemon.
You are capable of transferring your hard earned pokemon from Ruby, Sapphire, Leaf Green, Fire Red, and Emerald to Diamond and Pearl, after completing certain conditions.
There will be many new pokemon including new pre-evolutions and evolutions of old pokemon.
DS Wireless capabilities will allow up to 16 players to be connected wirelessly just like the Union Room
There will be no new pokemon types but rather new combinations such as Steel/Fighting.

This looks super fun. I loved all the Pokemon games, they are just a simple fun addictive-RPG that i think is just getting better and better (the TV show could use some work though...LOL)

Anyways, once it hits US/Euro/AUS (US - probably early 2007)

I wish to see you guys on the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection

New info and pics on Diamond and Pearl:
-The Day and Night system returns: Evening, Night, Morning, Noon, and Afternoon.
-The Pokemon sprites vary between Male and Female Pokemon. Different patterns are on the different genders as well as bigger or smaller or missing features. For example, Wooper's antennae is smaller in the female gender as seen in the pics in the link below:

-The Professor is known as Nanakamado (be weary this is the Japanese name)
-Manafi knows an attack called Heart Swap. This attack switches status effects across the field.
-Buizeru knows Agility
-Lucario knows Metal Claw.
-Buizeru's ability is Swift Swim.
-Lucario's ability is Inner Focus.
-Manafi has a new ability called Moist Body. This ability cures any status effect when it is raining.

-The Pokedex now features a weight comparison feature. The height and weight comparisons allow you to put your own height and weight in and compare with Pokemon.
-Buizeru is #056 in the Shinou Pokedex.
-The watch acts as a Poke'nav called Poke'tchi, and has over 20 features: Time Management, Monitoring of Pokemon in the Breeding Center, Type Chart and many more.

There is also a rumor floating about that Diamond and Pearl will release on September 26th in Japan. But this is not official.

If so, that gives the U.S. a possible 2006 RELEASE!!!

New Info: The Pokedex will now introduce touch-screen features, such as browsing the listings with the stylus

The Pokedex listing for each pokemon will contain the following:
-Dex entry
-Area
-Cry
-Height
-Weight

You can navigate all of these with the touch functions, and when listening to the unique cry of a pokemon, you can increase the pitch and speed when listening.

Seriously, they just seem dumbed down. And it looks like they're taking Pokemon that didn't evolve and now they're giving them pre/evolutions.

They are basically remakes of pokemon Red and Blue, but in GBA format with color and everything, and a new set of islands and pokemon. you might wanna check that out

That's your opinion, but i think they are getting quite creative. I want to catch a Lucario someday...it looks tight.

^ some of them look a little odd, but those are just a FEW. and the ones that do look odd, are because they are pre-evolutions

Bonsly is of course gonna look smaller and stubblier because it is the pre-evolution of Sudowoodo.

Same for Munchlax.

Anyone remember Togepi? Cute, small, but weird looking, but it evolved into the slimmer Togetic later.

The only new ones that have been unveilled are pre-evolutions, and about 2 others, but there will be many new pokemon, that will be MUCH awesomer.

If they put Lucario into Super Smash Bros. Brawl, i would die....that would be too awesome:

I am really not a big pokemon fan. The only thing that might keep me interested in the series, are the handhelds. Even though I don't like the series much at all. I might actually buy the game on the DS because it looks pretty good, and I am actually curious to see how many pokemon can they actually create!lol

Yeah, I'm with you. I'm not a huge fan of Pokemon in general...just the handheld games.

^ same here, when i was little i bought the whole episodes from episode 1 till they battle the elite 4 in kanto. (the first season).

But that was it, now i just have the handhelds xD and they are so much fun. ^_^

The games have gotten old you might as well say none of these pokemon are really new because most of them are Pre-Evolved forms and Evolved forms probably they ran out of ideas after Ruby and Sapphire so they might as well stop with the games unless they can actually come up with 100 brand new pokemon that no one has seen before

Ok people, somebody in here just flipped on my Pokemon Switch. Now I'm gonna be hyperactive and insane pokemon fangirl for the next few hours.

Oh my god, I love all of these new pokemon, they're all so neat and cute! So far, the cutest ones on there seem to be:
-Lucario
-Manafi
-Buizeru
-Tamanta
The others are cute too, but not quite as cute as those four. And yes, I am sure about putting Lucario on that list. I know he's probably gonna be crazy strong thanks to that steel/fighting combination type but he's still a cute lil puppy!

I still think Pokémon as a game is great. Every game we discover new species, which is pretty cool IMO...

I dont own a DS (yet) so right now I wouldnt be able to play it, but then again the game wont be in Europe untill Late 2007, so I can wait... xD
