I would like voice acting. The graphics are fine the way they are, I just would love voices in the Real time scenes. Spencer(The guard or whatever) smashing into that thing during the chase was less effective without a scream.

Hey all, just started playing this game today because it was on sale on PSN. I have to say, I really am liking it so far. Different from other FFs in that it's more "fun" with it's character and set designs. I can't believe I've avoided playing this game for so long! Can't wait to play some more!

There can never be enough IX love.

I hadn't played this in over a decade and finally returned to it a few weeks ago for my second playthrough - but also my first (and probably last) Level 1 Final Fantasy playthrough... It's been an interesting (challenging, frustrating, resetting, etcetering) experience so far, but IX has enough charm to carry it through. Wish me swift success. :3

Haha, yea, the game is kinda frustrating when playing after all these developments in the battle system. God, I forgot how much I REALLY hate random battles. And the whole fighting is so slow! I just wanna it to speed up so I can get to the story! Well I'm 5 hours in, still like it, but god those random battles!

Compared to other Final Fantasy's or other RPG's in general, the random encounters in IX are bearable and not much of a problem.

^I just don't like the old system. I like how it's evolved more over the years. I like enjoying the scenery without being interrupted. Then fighting when I'm ready to move on. I like having more control of when a battle starts like in the newer games.
