No person who does not intend to cause hostility him/herself regardless of his/her opinion on any character should feel hesitant to post in this club under the notion that he/she will be intimidated, insulted, looked down upon.

His/her argument may be thoroughly addressed, but this is not intended against the poster him/herself and strictly targets the argument without any intention to make the poster look bad.

And who still, by the end of the game, remains this sweet, kind, spunky, nice, giggly, perfect angel, only more brave or something. Of course, give her more positive aspects, why don't you. If there is a perception of Mary Sue that she fits, is perfection. There's nothing wrong with the girl. Being a clone is circumstance.

I wouldn't have a problem with Xion hanging around good-looking guys (or else I wouldn't love Larxene)...if she hadn't kept fainting all the time, and in "coincidence", all three (Roxas, Axel, and Riku) where there in time to capture her faint, weak self in their arms, hold her (or in Riku's case, brush her bangs too), or save her. That's where the line blurs. If this wasn't canon, I bet people reading this in fanfiction would immediately stop reading.

** Her tragedy. Don't get me wrong, I don't usually bash people who end up with sad fates. It's when the game forces it on me that I have a problem. And I said this before somewhere else. The whole game felt like Xion was merely created to be pitied, and we had to see how much she suffered, how a pathetic scream and tears got to her when Riku was a complete and utter stranger, whose words shouldn't even be trusted. Then the nightmare, how the evil villains (except the main characters, naturally) were so cruel to poor Xion, especially Saïx D:. Lord help us all for this sweet little girl, let's cry us all a river, shall we please? It's a ploy to get us all to like her and forget the fact that she came out of nowhere. So, please, fall for it. And all this wrapped up in her sparkly, more long than needed, death. The whole thing seemed so shoved down my throat that my response was negative, especially when the game actually stated "poor Xion" (which, if it didn't turn me off by that point, permanently did there). It couldn't get as more obvious as it was then what they were trying to do to the audience. And from what I see, it worked. To some, anyway. Roxas nor Riku Replica never made me feel like this, neither did Naminé. Their stories were pretty passive, and while you feel for Roxas, he was more angry than a moper, and Riku Replica is just full of antagonism. Naminé we didn't see much of her until the end (where, yes, it was possible for her not to steal screen time), but it was enough to understand her feelings. Both three of these people did not take over the story, plot, or overall game just to explain the reason of their angst. That's where Xion fails. Let alone the fact that when Xion isn't there, there is either the topic of her being discussed, or Roxas worrying about her. Or constant mentions. It's like impossible not to have her name in the topic long enough. I'm surprised the game wasn't called Kingdom Hearts: XION and leave it at that. We instead had some unneeded difficult title like Three Five Eight Days Over Two when it turned out it was really just...days. Go figure.

It's okay for you to love this. I don't.

And, seriously. Take out the music or drown it out, and her death isn't exactly so great. It was more of Shimomura's talents that made the scene close to worth it.

My Organization development and depth other than the one dimensional characteristics they kept throughout the game was forsaken for this wangstfest? :/ As if the series isn't turning into the greatest wangsfest of all.

** Of course, since Nomura couldn't screw up the sequel, with no one mentioning her in any way whatsoever in the series, they made everyone lose the memories. The cop out didn't sit well with me at all, because if you were aware of the plot hole, why create it? For the sake of some story that could've been anything else? (or couldn't have been at all, actually. Unless people were so needing to know the "daily lives of the Organization", lulz Nomura, which the game wasn't even about that anyway except them being wallflowers in the end with half of them wiped out from the beginning, then there's nothing an interview question or two couldn't answer. Or even a line in the game, to be honest) That's another one of my main gripes. And it isn't even starting.

** Roxas himself has proceeded to mature on his own, and with the probability of him having a heart, the "emotions" that are quoted are more or less possible to be real and have a life of their own.

The truth is: it all started with Axel and Roxas.

Sea salt ice cream, which was Axel's idea, was way more important, more meaningful, and more symbolic to the situation. It's even the icon that you see in the DS screen. It's what Roxas constituted as what friends do, to the point where it was his words as Xion was dying. You mean to tell me he learned how to care, worry, and defend a friend because of her? His attitude? His personality? All that he's shown since the very beginning? Smart-aleck words like "I could've done that blindfolded" and speaking back to Vexen wasn't Xion's doing. And feeling alone when eating ice cream by himself was her cause? So Axel has no role, right? Roxas never mentioned him, of course. And yes, I'm not being serious. Aren't these natural feelings in themselves? Just like he was feeling sick about whether or not Axel was dead?

In reality, from what I see, Roxas (and her, if we have to) learned a lot more from Axel, who not only taught him many meanings, but solidified what friends do the most. He was the teacher and the adult figure, the person that was most went to when he wanted answers. The other half was covered by the Disney worlds Roxas visited. Most of the questions, if not all, stem from what he witnesses every moment he goes on a mission and the people there. Which was even made a point of by Nomura before 358/2 Days came out about what role the worlds play in an interview. And these said questions hauled over to the Organization and their motives. Even before Xion ever died or he discovered the truth, I remember a conversation with Axel very clearly where he inquires a lot about what Organization XIII does. I'll find the quote if I have to.

Xion didn't change Axel either. Axel doesn't even remember Xion and he has, like Roxas, no problem recalling anything else as to what made him different. He wouldn't have stated Roxas made him feel like he had a heart, was the only one he liked, and basically got through the whole of KH2 trying to protect and bring him back. As it was originally. Again, natural reactions to people you care about. Xion also wasn't in Castle Oblivion, where notes of Axel changing began to be said in the game after his return. In the secret reports, he also doesn't alienate Roxas when he said they remind him of his childhood memories. It was both, but if you wan to take Xion out, we all know it could have been Roxas only as well if she didn't exist (which, let's face it: she didn't). To be truthful, he never alienates Roxas when concerning his views. Xion just sort of tacked on.

So don't peg all this growth solely on her part, because that's not true. There were other forces at work. I can safely even bigger ones.

** Xion had no purpose. Anything that had to do with BBS didn't concern her, and the only part that did was more or less the fact that Xigbar saw her as Ven at one point (and that rests on Sora and Roxas, considering that was more of a reaction to Sora's memories that Xion only holds, not her exactly).
2. Dual wielding can be easily explained by Sora or Ventus. You know it's true.
3. The Deep Dive scene....did anyone notice the fact that Riku was already there waiting in the skyscraper? What was going to happen, a peaceful talk? Tea party? So you mean to tell me he wasn't there in any possible way to stop Roxas, when Diz came right after Roxas was defeated, and had Data Twilight Town all set for this moment? Did Xion went into everyone's mind, then? That was perhaps the biggest slip of the whole game. Sorry, don't buy it, can't buy it. Especially since Roxas throwing the keyblade could be explained in pure action that he was surrounded by heartless, succumbed, jumped out of the way and looked around the swarm (honestly, why make it look this way if it wasn't going to serve anything?), and saw the hooded figure on top, and asked silently for his aid. Granted, we don't know the reason, but Roxas and Riku did meet in the game before. Something else could've went on. Or it can be the Sora inside Roxas, which also appeared when Riku was taunting him, and when he finally admitted, "You really are his Nobody." Done deal.
4. Roxas turned out to be needed regardless of whether Xion had been there or not. It's not like Sora recovered when she died, after all, even though his memories either returned to him or Roxas (still confused on that aspect). Take it this way - if Sora's memories did leak, and it was made a plot point still, it would go to Roxas if Xion was nowhere in the game (considering the interview with the creators stated that Sora's memories went through Roxas and into her...after) like 358/2 Days finished with. If Sora's memories didn't leak, they will remain with him or a part of Roxas like 358/2 Days finished with. Spot a pattern? KH2 wouldn't have changed, in other words. Roxas was more of the rightful key, no matter how it went. Xion exists? Xion does not exist? Makes no scratch, end of.

So it was back to square one anyway. I mean, does anyone actually see the sense of this? Honest answer?

358/2 Days basically made a simple explanation more complicated, confusing, and convoluted.

** As if all this wasn't enough, we'll take the "impact" she had on Roxas. It's one thing to not remember somebody, even when some memories of your past life comes back, like Roxas's time in the Organization's did. Except that, for Xion being this GREAT, IMPORTANT REASON for Roxas to leave, and the "main", he finds no problem as to why he abandoned his former comrades when the supposed "source" of it is gone. Especially when you consider his argument with Axel in 358/2 Days and the "no one would miss me" scene. If someone had this much influence, wouldn't you think a huge part or piece is missing? Wouldn't Roxas think that there are some dots not connecting? He didn't question it, and whatever he did figure out, was fine with him as good reasons to have ditched Organization XIII, apparently. Which brings to question Xion's role as a whole. If you have an explanation, please, do so. Other than it was made up, because, that's as obvious as the computer screen you're staring at.

Overall, it was a big waste of time. 358/2 Days was probably the most filler I have ever seen of a side game, and most of what happened isn't even remembered. ALL of it. It's not just Sora who forgets (who even was hinted to possibly have gained it back in KH2: FM+). ALL. And the reason why was the cop-out said above. Was Xion advertised and made to be important? Maybe. Was she really? Not in the spam of things. She's a 'clone' of Sora/Roxas, created by the Organisation that nobody mentioned by out of something-about-Sora's-lost-memories-complicated-mumble-something contrived and convoluted because they apparently needed an extra keyblade user cause is whatever contrived and convoluted (and it's funny, considering that Nomura never had come up to what Xion would be, so I wonder what he thought about having only Roxas be the Organization's prime keyblade wielder. What? Couldn't have done it without her?). Nomura finds it clever, I find it nonsensical.

Yet, I've already lost faith in the director (this isn't even accounting to his meddling in the FF series and FF7 compilation). Too many asspulls to account for, and it keeps multiplying. I don't know how many people Sora can have inside him (because, apparently, no game is ever without a "Sora" or some trio poo, it's impossible) without somehow breaking apart or have his soul be completely firetrucked up by this point. Seriously. It's ridiculous. He's not even just Sora anymore: he's the physical body bin out of all the Sora selves he has within. Whether it be his memories, his heart, his soul, his hair, his boots, his face, his energy, his arm, his ass, his blood vein...

Spoiler: Q: WHAT is your name? WHAT is your quest? And WHAT... exactly makes Xion a Sue, and if Xion had never come in to the picture, what would have been the real motivation for Roxas leaving the Organization? To find Sora? Is that really enough? He was in an association with very powerful people who were going to make him whole, and he was best friends with one of them (Axel). Why would he leave it all behind just to meet Sora?

Maybe that doesn't sound like a good enough reason to you, but it never sounded weak or plot-holey to me at all.

To your original question: Well, obviously she can't be a real Sue because she's actually in the game, and not fan-created. But, she does share a lot of traits with a lot of Sues, in my opinion.

150 Years of Mary Sue, by Pat Pflieger <---I've done a lot of looking around, and this seems to be the best analysis of Sues, which I found linked to on TVtropes. If you don't believe this is the correct description, then of course you won't think Xion's a Sue, but here are some traits:

+She's very close to Roxas, Axel, and Riku, who risk themselves and their important goals (in Riku's case) for her sake.
+When she's off-screen they are almost always talking about her or asking where she is or worrying about her or planning to go look for her (and don't say that this is not her 'fault' because she has a very sad and troubled life, it is the fact that the story is about this that makes it similar to a Sue story).
+She is mistreated by Saix, who is set up as a 'bad guy', and then subsequently defended and comforted by Roxas and Axel.
+She has a keyblade. And yes, I know that many of the characters in this series have Keyblades--but it is pretty much a staple of KH OCs (and I have read a tonne of badfic in my time) for the Sues to have Keyblades. And her Keyblade is explained by her being a clone of Sora with his most important memories of Kairi so she looks like a girl... letting her use a 'fake' Keyblade... if you ask me (and you did), this is pretty contrived. It's a stretch of the imagination.
+She swings between badass ("don't worry about what Saix says, I can handle him", *kills darkside in one hit*) and curling up in a sad little ball on her bed and needing comforting.
+She has a generic, sweet, caring, selfless, noble personality. Everything she does, she does for her friends, right up until she dies. Even when she runs away to find out who she is, part of it is because she is affecting Roxas.
+She faints/collapses nine times in the game, and lies in the arms of all three of the games main bishies.
+She looks like a generic Japanese girl with no special physical features; she's an easy place-holder.
+Roxas' over-protectiveness of her causes him to fight with Axel, and then it's her mediation that brings the two back together. (Sues often are the ones who solve problems between the popular characters).
+Her whole story (her creation, her life, her death) is dogged by tragedy. Just listen to her theme music.
+She turns out to have actually been the drive behind everything that happened in Deep Dive, which was a pre-existing scene (Sues can turn out to have been the important influence behind well-known events all along, in fanfic). She also makes certain plot holes: when Roxas left, why did he say 'why did the keyblade chose me? I have to know', and not mention Xion, or lies? And if everyone forgot about her when she died, what did the Org think they had been doing for a whole year? She was such an integral part of their plans.
+She has a beautiful, sparkly, death scene which occurred because of her nobleness--she chose to die so Roxas could live, despite knowing he would forget her.
+She is the reason for everything Roxas does (even the reason he leaves the Organisation and the reason he met Riku in Deep Dive; he was off to avenge her), and the circumstances around her drive the entire plot. In fact, you cannot take her out of this story the way it is without it collapsing. Every other plotline has to connect to her in some way. I mean, this is the plot in a nutshell:

Plot arc 1: finding out what Nobodies, Heartless and Keyblades are
Plot arc 2: Axel goes to CO, missing him, meeting Xion
Plot arc 3: Xion goes missing, looking for Xion, helping Xion with her Keyblade
Plot arc 4: Xion fights Riku and loses, Xion is depressed, Roxas worries about Xion
Plot arc 5: Xion goes into a coma, Roxas worries about Xion, Xion's health is shaky and she faints again soon after waking
Plot arc 6: Xion runs away to find out who she is, Roxas worries a lot, Roxas and Axel defy orders to look for her, Xion is saved by Riku and runs around with Riku
Plot arc 7: Axel knocks Xion out to bring her home causing Roxas and Axel to fight, Xion helps them resolve it
Plot arc 8: Xion keeps stealing Roxas' power, her guilt, his confusion
Plot arc 9: Org pits the two against eachother to fight to the death but axel interferes. this plot could have been epic, but it lasts one day
and is resolved on the clock tower that afternoon
Plot arc 10: Xion runs away again, to sacrifice herself, Roxas is angry with Axel for letting her go, Axel is torn, the truth comes out and Roxas is even angrier
Plot arc 11: Roxas runs away from the Org, Axel stops Xion and brings her back, Xion sacrifices herself by forcing Roxas to kill her
Plot arc 12: Roxas sets off to avenge Xion and free Kingdom Hearts like she asked, loses to Riku.

After the initial setting up of Axel and Roxas' friendship and the basic world of KH, Xion's tragic story and her decisions drive absolutely everything, and for most of the game, all Roxas does is worry about her or chase after her. I mean, wasn't Roxas meant to be the main character of this game? Why can't he drive it himself? Oh wait, because a special girl is the most important thing in the world to him, of course she drives everything...

A before-unheard of young girl with a generic or no personality who is the absolute focus of a popular main character to the point of being unreasonable (see how he treats Axel sometimes when their conflict is about her) is pretty much what I call a Sue, if I see it in a fanfic.

Feel free to disagree, but I'm not really going to change my opinion any time soon.

You get the impression that Riku summoned Roxas to a place of shadows, and that Riku is a master of shadows, so I would like to give him more exploration in the game.

When was Organization XIII founded?
Nomura: The timing is when Philosopher Ansem's 6 disciples turned into Heartless. Organization XIII is only called like that because it has recruited 13 members, but it doesn’t matter if it has “XIII” in its name or not. All 13 members were already gathered in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories but the members that were in Castle Oblivion still called it "The Organization".

What triggered Roxas’ separation from the Organization?
Nomura: As he kept having recurring dreams of Sora, someone he didn’t know, he felt he needed to leave the Organization to find out who these people he didn’t know were. As Axel didn’t want him to go, he didn’t tell Sora about Roxas in Castle Oblivion, did he?

Whoa, whoa, but I thought Nomura had it in mind that Roxas is so passive that he could never act by himself without Xi-Xi-chan. Isn't this what we've been hearing lately? IT IS NOT POSSIBLE! Dx

Demyx was a musician who intrigued his fans with the notion that he did too have a heart, and also stood out as one of the only members that reacted to everything with fear or a strong sense of dis-motivation. His apparent lack of strength, aside from initiating an epic boss fight that left gamers writhing in agony, seemed to directly contradict the proper definition of a Nobody. A Nobody, after all, requires a strong heart in order to exist, so logically, he should have possessed some strong traits as well. Sadly, Demyx never got the opportunity to demonstrate the qualities that allowed him to become one of the rare, human Nobodies. He was lured to the Altar of Naught, where Plot Device the Terrible was waiting for him. His death came much too soon.

Luxord was a gambler who enjoyed talking about everything in terms of luck and chance. In his life, he managed to do what few others could accomplish: outsmart the legendary Captain Jack Sparrow. Though his snarky attitude charmed many, he also respected Roxas as a fellow colleague while they went on missions together. At least, we think he did. The world will never know who Luxord was or what his motivations might have been. Though he should have been protected from death by the cursed Aztec gold that he had stolen in Port Royal, the Great Xion considered herself above such petty things as laws of nature, plot holes, and established canon. At least his death was quick.

Xaldin is survived by his Original Self, Dilan, who at least appeared in Birth by Sleep for a short period of time. Demyx and Luxord are only survived by their mourning fanbases, who will always keep the memory of their potential alive. Long may their legacies continue in the world of fanfiction!

After another long day of being ridiculed by Saix, Xion once again wept all night long on her precious bed, a gift from her favorite author, Stephanie Meyer. She weeped and weeped and weeped. Then moaned a little. She stroked the bed. The bed.... was the only thing that could understand her pain. It too was a TOOL.

Xion sighed and stroked the soft cotton sheets of her bed, using the corners of them to wipe the tears from her eyes.

"Oh, bed," she whispered, "I'm so glad you're always here for me. I know I can always count on you to be there for me, because I'm too sweet and caring and considerate to bother my friends with my silly little life. Even though they said I should come to them, I know it's better to shut them out and run away to you. They'll love me no matter what I do, so this is best for everyone." Then she curled up in the blankets and cried herself to sleep.

It truly was a horrible day. Saix had nagged and berated her as often as he could today, because she had wet the bed. But how could she tell him that the soaked material-covered mattress were merely wet with her tears? No doubt he would call her useless, a tool, a mistake, the usual.

"W-we tools.... must stick together," she whispered to the white sheets, grasping the flat pillow and bawling into the feather-stuffed cotton.... again.

So the two spent the night together, like they had every night since fighting Riku. She knew it was wrong, and she always hated herself for it in the morning, but, being the glutton for punishment that she was, she continued this like a nightly ritual. The bed never complained, of course. Typical beds. You could trust them as far as you could throw them. Not that she's ever tried; she's much too weak, sometimes, from depression to even lift it, let alone throw it. Nevertheless, the bed was still always there to comfort her when all of her boy toys just weren't enough.

Xion woke up the next morning wrapped in her cotton bed sheets.

"HAAAAAAAAA," the young girl sighed with joy. "I'm always the happiest when I'm with you!"

She tossed and turned in her sheets before realizing there was work to be done. She got up, put on her coat and her high heeled boots, and then made her bed.

She sat on her bed and began to stroke the sheets. "You've always been with me haven't you," said Xion sincerely. "Through my highs and lows, you've always been there to show me the good in life!" The girl stopped and started to whisper. "I love you. Though I may be away from you at times, I'll never forget you. Goodbye bed."

Xion started to walk to her bedroom door, but before she could get over the threshold, she looked back at her bed and began to tear up.

The girl waved goodbye to her bed, then ran through the halls of emptiness with eyes full of tears.

"Yo Xion!" said Xion's redheaded BFF, but she just ran past him in tears, face in her hands. He rolled his eyes and grunted. "What the hell happened this time!?"

Of course Saix got a bit of screen-time because who was he being mean to. That's right Xion. Who was in almost every scene he was in. Axel.
Why make 13 characters if only two, plus one that came out of nowhere, were the only ones that were going to get any thing resembling character development? What about the other apprentices, Diz, these oh so important, mysterious rooms that were said in the vein of a passing afterthought etc. So sure she had character development, but it was a double-edged sword for me. On one side she's now a character, and thus she needs development. She got that. So that's a plus. However, on the other side it was at the expense of other established characters. Xion took their development and ate it. Didn't even leave a crumb.
Pointless- So she made Roxas learn duel-wielding. Who seriously cared? I just thought he could because of Sora. That would have been a perfect explanation. I mean he is his nobody.
She's a replica. So the whole plot was just a more in-dept Re:Com?! A whole plot, and character development wasted on another replica storyline. Which became even more pointless when just like Com everything went back to ground zero.
Xigbar knew Ven? Of course he did because he actually alluded to knowing other wielders himself in Kh2. We didn't need Xion for that. We didn't need Xion in Days period.
Faux Action Girl- She showed promise when she took down that darkside, and then again when she destroyed that heartless in argabrah, but between those times and the end nothing. She got a beat down from every fight she was in. Girl Sora? Please. Keyblade wielder my ass. Sora is a god-mode sue. Xion wasn't even half that, and don't get me started on the fainting. I mean I know it was a story reason why she did,but please explain to me why she fainted way more times then Roxas did. He also didn't have the pretty bishies all over him when he did either. She was more like a damsel in distress then an action girl.
Sympathy Sue- From beginning, middle, and end her story felt like a deliberate trauma congo line. It's like Nomura thought well I know some of the fanbase will be pissed about this (asspull) 14th member so let's make her story real sad to pull at their heartballstrings. Then they'll like her and forgive me! He won and loss with me. Sure I felt sorry for her. Mostly at her death and the beautiful piece that was playing through it,but I would have felt more genuine emotion throughout the game instead of annoyance if her whole story didn't feel like it was screaming feel sorry for me NOW combined with all the other things that bothered me about her. If done right a trauma conga line can turn characters into woobies. However, if done wrong you get sympathy sues like Xion.
Marysue- Not only did this 14th member of organization 13 come out of oblivion she just had to look like Kairi didn't she.What number are we on now? While wielding a key-blade,and being instant BFF to the two most popular bishie org members. Then she has a forced takeover sob story to boot. Why does this sound like a fan-fiction character?

As expected I felt nothing.
And then I tried the opposite: superimposing Xion's theme on to other sad events, like Axel's death (hell, even some non-KH scenes). Lo and behold, they all seemed exponentially sadder.
This may just attest to the fact that I am an emotionally shallow being who is more moved by what I hear than my fellow man, but it still proves I don't care for Xion.
You should all try it, pretty fun.

Wait for Roxas(maybe he was coming from a mission for all Riku knew) and kidnap him so Sora could wake up. I mean we even see Riku scoping out TWTNW even before DD came to fruition!

Other things that have been pointed out in places, and I agree with, it's that Xion had no purpose. Anything that had to do with BBS didn't concern her, and the only part that did was more or less the fact that Xigbar saw her as Ven at one point (and that rests on Sora and Roxas, truly). Dual wielding can be easily explained by Sora or Ventus. The Deep Dive scene....did anyone notice the fact that Riku was already there waiting in the skyscraper? What was going to happen, a peaceful talk? So you mean to tell me he wasn't there in any possible way to stop Roxas, when Diz came right after Roxas was defeated, and had Data Twilight Town all set for this moment? Did Xion went into everyone's mind, then? That was perhaps the biggest slip of the whole game. Sorry, don't buy it, can't buy it. Especially since Roxas throwing the Keyblade could be explained in pure action that he was surrounded by Heartless, succumbed, jumped out of the way and looked around the swarm (honestly, why make it look this way if it wasn't going to serve anything?), and saw the hooded figure on top, and asked silently for his aid. Granted, we don't know the reason, but Roxas and Riku did meet in the game before. Something else could've went on. Or it can be the Sora inside Roxas, which also appeared when Riku was taunting him, and when he finally admitted, "You really are his Nobody." Done deal.
Take her out, and you have to wonder. Was it made to look like she had a point? Maybe. Did she really? As of the moment, zero. I apologize, I don't take being cute as a reason to like a character.
With people questioning that if she was a guy, she wouldn't get this much hate, same thing could be said by her being female. Even though the truth is that "she" isn't. Would you feel sorry for her if the appearance was male as it died?
I accept that she now, while previously she didn't, exists. Don't accept this "importance" or have to accept said character. 358/2 Days as whole didn't give much compared to other side stories, to be truthful. It stands completely out on its own.
And, the whole death scene was made grandiose because of the melody/music that was playing. Silence it, and it isn't as effective, which should be tried once. Xion can thank Shimomura.

After the initial slump where he was devoid of memories, he was absurdly Sora-esque. Maybe a bit deeper, and certainly more angsty, but Sora-esque nonetheless.
That is not to say he was relatable, or even likable at that, but it's not the Roxas I had envisioned in Organization XIII. I found it to be disappointing that the other half of Sora, what was supposed to be the darker half, had, in actuality, a cheery disposition for nearly his entire existence.
The Roxas of Organization XIII I had seen in KH2, while the cutscenes of him were few and far inbetween, was cold and, yes, heartless, like a Nobody should be. Or maybe I had just interpreted them wrong, but everything, right down to his mannerisms, seemed to be the antithesis of the happy-go-lucky Sora.
And that's not to say I didn't want to see the Sora side of Roxas either. In fact, I would have much preferred a progression of character development that led Roxas to ultimately become like his Somebody.
That is, his experiences in the Disney world, his bond with Axel, and his memories of Sora would steadily turn what was an apathetic being into a caring one. Note that when I say "apathetic," I don't mean emo or hardcore, just genuinely and definably "apathetic." We only got to see this side of Roxas when he was devoid of memories and roughly as dense as concrete. By the time he meets Xion, yeah, he's coherent and he's Sora.
Couldn't they have expanded more on that progression between uncaring and caring? What does it truly feel like to feel anger, sadness, happiness, etc. as if for the first time?
To be fair, that's a fault of the game in general, but had Xion never existed (which she might as well not have), you can certainly imagine how Roxas would be different. By throwing Xion into the mix, it would be impossible for Roxas to be anything other than what he was from the get-go, or rather from the moment he met Xion. He had to be the Sora to her Kairi, otherwise she'd be even more useless than she already is. So, in sum, she pretty much epitomizes everything that was wrong with Roxas.

He friended Xion as soon as he saw her, making the AkuRokuFriendship thing meaningless to me, her constantly worried about her, ran after her when she vanished etc.
- and she fainted and cried and fainted and sobbed and cried for Rikus help and ran away just to faint a few days later in a bishis arms and being tortured by the bad, bad other members and comforted by her (constantly worried for her safety) friends... poor little poppet...
- Deep Dive with Xion. When I first saw the scene I was like "WTF? Is this for real?" Deep Dive was always Roxas' and Riku's scene, and that Deep Dive feat. Xion was just... wrong, as if Riku was on vacation in the WTNW, accidently ran into Roxas and was told by Xion to "Stop him!"
- the VAing. The Japanese wasn't good at all. Risa Uchida was okay for KH1-Kairi, but not that good for KHII-Kairi and absolutly NOT fitting for Xion. The english one was fitting at some parts (death scene) but sucked at others (DI.scenes)
- the amount of screen time she had - the majority of cutscenes where about Xion, i was SO pissed. Three scenes were showing her lying in Rikus arms at DI. There were so many other scenes, that would have been awesome as a cutscene, but no.... we have to watch three times the same crap. Argh....!ffffuuu (<-- I really wish there would be a Hulk-Smilie!)
- the death speech. It's just pathetic. To me real heroes die silent, without any fame. And when there really is no way for a character to die silent, I like death scenes full of regret (AtW, i might be one of his few fans) or anger and fear. This is what i call dramatic. Not something like the show Xion pulled off.

I was so exited, when i read, there would be a game for my beloved DS.
When i first heard about the "mysterios new member of Org XIII", i thought, that someting like that was quite predicable from the start.
When i first saw the face, i thought "Anothe Kairi? This starts to get old, Nomura...", but i thought that she might be okay. I didn't want to judge her just by appearance.
A few weeks later i watched the trailer. And the moment i heard "Who am I?" and "I want to... I wanna be... with you two." "But what would it take for me to be like you?" I was like: ffffuuu
I hate things like this in general, but that was way over the top.
Am very disappointed of Days. Seriously was expecting more. That was our last chance to get to know more about the Org. members. (I hope, they are not brought back in any way in any of the games...)
At least their original names should have been revealed.
And you can't blame the DS for the bad story. I loved CoM. CoM had a good story, interesting characters (the Marluxia/Larxene/Axel - Trio, was so awesome). It was touching and dramatic at some parts, had a gameplay that was not as stoic as in Days where you go from mission to mission to torture the A button (although the gameplay wasn't that bad. thebatman for Panel-system).
I even liked the card system, i mean, the GBA had just too few buttons to make a KH-like-gameplay. And all this with only a tenth of the space of a normal DS-game, on the GBA with worse sound and graphics.
I really am thinking about buying a PSP for BBS, which looks very promising. Days just sucked a lot. Sorry Nomura, you failed. Creating lots of Kairis is sure a way to win naive young fans who don't care about good plot and authenticity, but a lot of older fans with somewhat "higher expectations" regarding plot and originality start getting really upset. At least I got that impression...
I don't hate Kairi, no, actually I like her (Not in the meaning of "OMG! My absolute favorite character!"), she has a promising character and some interesting quirks. Although I can understand when you hate her for being useless. It's true, there were some situations, where she just should have been done more.
Namine is different, I love her. She has her very own power and knows how to use it. Her story is sad in many ways and not that emo and angsty. Of course she is a damsel in distress, but it's bearable. I like how she develops to someone, who learns to make her own decisions.
Larxene is great anyway. And pretty (am the only one, who thinks she is pretty?). I love characters like her, she is a sadist and a femme fatale, flirting and... she is just made to be an antagonist. I like her for being such a bitch! I am not sad, that she died, she was just entertaining as long as she was there.
And Olette is... just love. And she wears trousers. thebatman The HPO-Trio is a REAL trio for me. Or SoraDonaldGoofy. Not something so fake like RAX...

It doesn't strike me as a stretch that Roxas, through exploring Disney worlds and observing and even interacting to a degree with the characters, would slowly come to see that there's more to the world ts than the dreary Org, and maybe what the Org is doing is wrong. That would have been a much nicer game than plot device spotlight stealing Xion forcing sympathy in the characters and player in one fell sad swoop as she dies tragically. It grates on me a lot that Nomura felt he needed that one single tragic moment to utterly change Roxas' resolve, when he could have handled it better and more naturally with a plot that involved Roxas gradually changing over time. Character development, basically. Roxas has none in the actual game because, as so many of you have said, Xion forces a Sora-like change in him from the get-go.

Just because Xion moped more doesn't make it sadder. In terms of what actually happened,uh, no contest. Was Riku doing emo shit when Sora had to close the door on him in KH1? No. In fact, he was grinning. Didn't make it any less emotional. And what happened to Aqua at the end of her scenario? Why, just like Riku, she was stuck in the Dark Realm, but remained hopeful. This is made exponentially more depressing given that we know that, in spite of her optimism, she's in there for [i]12 years[/i], while the situation gets no better for Ven and actually worsens for Terra.
PLOT TWIST! In BbS Final Mix, we will in fact find out that Terra, Aqua and Ven are all thinking about Xion when they fight Master Xehanort and Vanitas. What was depicted in the KH2FM secret ending and BbS was not the entire story!
Seriously, I was pretty rip shit that they altered Deep Dive. You don't touch that. It's an infamous piece of the story, now and forever tainted by what they did to it in Days.
They didn't even have to throw Xion in there, they could have done it with anyone and I would still be upset.
Now, it's like I consider it a separate canon. There's the actual Deep Dive... and then there's Xion Deep Dive.
People were all like, "Well now we know why Roxas threw Oblivion at Riku?"
Really? You know that, uh, in the original secret ending, Roxas was using Strike Raid on Neoshadows further up the building and Riku sorta, um, stole it right?
But they noticeably took out the neoshadows, so in KH2 it looks like Roxas is throwing the keyblade to Riku... which is fine. There were a lot of heartless, maybe Roxas, you know, threw it to Riku so that he could help defeat the Heartless? We couldn't just leave it at that?
Instead we get a convoluted answer from Nomura saying that a piece of Xion within Roxas lingered and that she was trying to stop him by throwing his keyblade to Riku.
Do I even need to take that apart and analyze how retarded that sounds?

There was once a time when Axel and Roxas tried to rebel against the writers' nefarious schemes to mess with what they'd already established, but then the poor boys were discovered, sent to the Ministry of Love, and got subjected to the horrors of Room 101. The writers' triumphant smiles vanished as they stared at each other uneasily. "Ummm...because you feel ashamed of yourself for betraying a close friend? And you feel utterly hopeless because you realize that the Party defeated you?"
Saix blinked. "Why? I can't feel ashamed. I don't have a heart. You of all people should know that!"
"But...but...but Axel and Roxas folded!" they stammered, "They're eating ice cream with Xion as we speak!"
"Well, Axel and Roxas were always foolish like that, weren't they? That doesn't change a thing for me. I'm not going to love Xion. Can I go now?"
Instead of answering him, they formed a huddle and said in panic-stricken whispers, "It's okay, we can just rewrite his character...make him look evil and then that'll just make everyone love her more...dang it, we can still fix this...!"

They're not canon, but the extra things in them can't be dismissed completely....

- When you think about it, she's pretty much a watered-down version of Kairi, with just more angst and pretty fighting powers. Her personality is bland and boring. And I give Kairi props for actually having flaws (though her flaws are what I don't like like about her xD; you could say I'm being hypocritical) and making her a bit more believable character*. - Xion has little to no purpose in the overall storyline. She's not even hinted in BbS or Coded. And dual-wielding could've been easily explained through Sora and Ventus, you diddlying know it. Also, if Sora's memories did leak, they would go to Roxas, no? So it wouldn't matter if Xion wasn't there, KH2 would still be unaffected. And then there's the old thing where KH2 doesn't hint about Xion at all. Even if everyone did forget Xion, you know she would be hinted somewhat. This may be Nomura not thinking of Xion at the time, but uhhh, you're still pointless. Oh yeah, there's also the fact Xion hasn't changed Axel. At all.
Axel doesn't even remember Xion and he has, like Roxas, no problem recalling anything else as to what made him different. He wouldn't of have stated that Roxas made him feel like he had a heart and was the only one he liked. He never alienates Roxas when it comes to his views, where Xion was just stuck on.

Even when you're gone, you can still have a voice inside people's heads to tell a guy to stop a person that was going to be stopped by him anyway. And to tell Diz to come right after and whisk them to the prepared and worked on Data Twilight Town that was never built to put Roxas in until your ominous presence excelled. You're just so important, t-t-t-that it needs to be there. Man, add...add in some sad Shimomura music while you are at it, damn you D':, and immediately, people will forgive and forget.
If canon can do it, you can too! Just make sure to somehow disguise that it isn't fanfiction, because as long as that's stapled there somewhere, people will still flame cause it wasn't SE that did it. However, you might get lucky if you go to Japan and meet Nomura, as he'll certainly think on the proposition. After all, everything is wangst, wangst, waaaaaaangst and perfection. Done once, he cannot be afraid to do so again.
You might have a future ahead of you, after all. Congratulations. Pursue your dreams, and never give up. It can happen one day, all you have to do is trust and have faith in what I say.

Like I mentioned before: if any of you, if any one, read this in fanfiction, you would completely run off with your tails between your legs to find a better story, if you would even bother reading something with an OC. Completely. That, or flame the author for the character and how much of a Sue she was. Just because it's canon doesn't mean it's any different. That just makes Xion a Canon Sue.

Not to mention we never saw Riku do to Kairi, or Naminé, what he did for Xion in any matter whatsoever (as in, holding that type of romantic connotations)...and he's only known her for like, what? Few minutes, if him being an asshole to her carries over (and yet certain people bitch about RokuNami being forced and too fast, and without basis...er, yeah, look at dear Rion). Maybe because in the DI scene it reminded him of Kairi, yet, why not do it to Kairi? In fact, why not show the same understanding to Roxas? (which is why I added the two replies together) Why not wait for him a year to see what he decides? Diz? What the hell got Diz, you know, the Diz who hates Nobodies, and anyone, and whose goal was to revive Sora regardless of who is sacrificed, to even last this long? The second he learned the truth he should have started his move. Especially since Xion was running off, and didn't have the Organization's protection. No, she was on Riku's side. And he didn't do anything. Because she's a special angel.

I like people saying she gave a plot to 358/2 Days. But 358/2 Days didn't have to exist or be made in the first place. No leftovers interviews couldn't answer. The only reason it even came about was because Nintendo wanted it.

For all the reasons you find it so; the deep dive bs, what they did to Riku, what they did to Axel and Roxas' characters, the teeth-grindingly frustrating plot... but then they have one extra hurt that you don't, which is having a giant cockblock (or so some think) right in their favourite timeframe to play with.
Call it butthurt if you want, but I do understand. Imagine if they released a re:re:CoM and suddenly there was this OTHER girl who went to CO with Axel, who was never mentioned before, who became best friends with him, and made everything you thought he had with Larxene meaningless. All their interesting little interactions are suddenly nothing in the face of this huge, random, forced relationship with a new character that rapes his personality. It would kind of suck. Especially if it was written really horribly, which made it impossible for you to try and like Axel's new girl, despite canon bashing you in the head telling you to accept it over Larxene.
This isn't how I react to Xion (I think Bullshit is so deep and inherent in everything in Days that I don't even bother to accept anything it tried to add to my original view of riku or axel or roxas or ANYTHING), but I can understand that way of thinking.

1. First problem it's that you only need one TABLE tag, really.
2. You need to choose how many rows to keep it nice and square. For example, one row will have, if you want five, five members (you've seen mine, and how it goes by five, right?). However, a tip I give is that when you skip (press ENTER, in other words) to make another row, don't let the last member before that have that stick.

Try that. It took me awhile to get it myself, but I was determined >/.
