Default Natural Disasters

I was looking over some old pictures and videos i have at home and a lot of them were of the aftermath and preparations for natural disasters. I have been through many. Has anyone else been through any? Tornados? Earthquakes? hurricanes? blizzards? etc.

Tell us your experience and so on. (or if you personally know of others who have been through some tell us their story)

Last year. I was at youth group on a Wednesday, and there was a tornado warning for my area, so we all went to the safest place in the church, I can't remember where, but we weren't aloud out, unless a parent came to get us, me and a few friends snuck out, and we looked out the doors of the church, the tornado was like a mile away from us, it was cool to see, but really scary.

We have had 2 earthquakes and the odd tornado (though they never came majorly close to us) and a few hurricanes. We mainly get major major floods. Last year floods were that bad that my town pretty much got cut off from surrounding areas.

Nope, never experienced one.

We've had some tornadoes close by, but that's it.

I always used to watch videos of tornadoes and hurricanes when I was about seven, does that count?

There was a tornado in my hometown, but I was like a baby when that happened. So, I can't say that I have.

I went through historical Hurricane Andrew in '92. heh all my town/ part of miami i live in was destroyed lol... thats why Miami has the strongest buidling standards in the country now lol.

I've also been through some floodings (mostly caused by hurricanes and tropical storms), many many many other hurricanes and tropical storms, but still none as bad as Andrew.

When Katrina hit us it wasnt nearly as bad as when it hit Louisiana and the other gulf coast areas obviously. But i went through that too.

A few tornados have passed through too lol....

There was 1 year, i dont remember when... I think maybe it was the year 2000 or 2001, and omg it rained for weeks w/ out letup... flooding everywhere. Its a good thing that FL is flat so a lot of it just ran off or was still, because if we had mts and other hilly areas here.... we would have been messed up lol

I've seen a lot of damage... but i like living here still, nothing like it ^^

(oh wait haha i just realized my avatar is a pic of a tornado in miami in '97 lol)

Oh!

I was in Florida just after hurricane Charlie [not that anyone remembers that one after Katrina] went through.

There were a bunch of downed billboards and such.

Man I was in Florida when Hurricane Andrew hit back in 1992. I was like 10 or 11. We were visiting Universal Studios and all the other parks. It was nuts, there was shattered glass all over the place. Tons of Army units. I'll never forget that.

Well there was the Flood of 93 which was pretty bad for the area of St. Louis. Also i remember a few different tornados coming near here. One almost hit my church. The one building in the area i think had it worse was this place called Carol House that sells furniture. Its about 2-3 miles away and it was hit by a tornado, hit by lightening, as well as been on fire. All 3 were at different times too which was just ironic.

Back in 2004 I went through 4 hurricanes...including Charlie. That one scared the shit out out everyone in central Florida because we all though we were safe since we lived in the center and hurricanes don't usually pass directly over us, yeah stupid us.

I remember we had an earthquake like last year or so but it was so small I don't think it counts.

yeah, the '04 and '05 hurricane seasons were crazy, i remember all those storms, one after the other... constantly.. i got a lot of damage between those years, record years if i remember correctly. I did some hurricane relief work up there in central FL too after some of the storms.
