Rep Power: 2 ![]() Level: 14 EXP: | Where's Waldo? ![]() Ian sat in a cold room alone. There was no light in this room, other than that given off by the lamp above his head, that served only light a small area roughly five feet in diameter. He wasn't sure exactly where this room was, as he had been unconscious when he was brought to where ever he was. Or at least, that was his best guess as to what had happened. The room was also silent, with the exception of the sound of air moving through what Ian knew where heating and cooling vents (and probably the source of the coldness in the room as well). He took a minute to analyze his situation. The chair his was in was made from metal, and bore metallic bands that had him strapped in by his hand and legs. He wouldn't be able to make a run for it, and wouldn't be able to fight. But before he could ponder a way out of his predicament, a calm, faceless voice broke the silence. "You are Ian Kayner, correct?" the voice asked, filling the room with an echo. "Yes, I am Ian Kayner. Who are you?" The voice responded, "I am Counselor Leroy Beldric of the World Agency." "The World Agency?" Ian questioned. "I think I've heard of that." "I don't doubt it," said the still faceless voice of Beldric. "Your brother, Daniel was member of our organization for a few months." "That's it!" said Ian, forgetting that he was bound to his seat, and trying to raise his arm in triumph. "My brother answered the call to arms to take down Waldo!" "Correct. And we here at the organization have gotten information that you have been attempting to track down Waldo as well." "Yes," Ian said, his voice getting angrier. "I'll get Waldo even if it's the last thing I do. He killed my brother, and I'll kill him!" "Please, calm down," said Beldric. "Your personal vendetta against Waldo has been driving your ambition for the passed two months. I wouldl, however like to ask you to place your desire for revenge aside, and join the World Agency. Do you except our offer?" "I'm sorry Mr. Beldric, but I must decline. You see, I'd rather work on my own in this one." "I'm sorry to hear that. But unfortunately, we aren't going to let such a skilled detective slip from our hands. I have already sent for the World Agency's leader, Brianna Goldstein. And I'll warn you now, she's not above using force to convince people." Last edited by Chromatic; April 27th, 2009 at 08:44 PM. |

Rep Power: 6 ![]() ![]() Level: 22 EXP: | The Head of the World Agency cut an imposing figure as she strode purposefully down the smooth white hallway, with a height that was above average and a look in her eyes that told subordinates that if they failed to do what was requested of them, she would not only get the job done herself, but would see to it that the offender never received a job again...anywhere. Brianna Goldstein had not brought about the most respected and efficient security force in the world by letting people sit around and enjoy themselves. Lately, she'd been more brusque with her team than usual, because this Waldo Walden was proving to be a more difficult case than she had originally anticipated. She had never expected it to take this long to bring him to justice, and she had certainly never suspected that Dan Kayner would have been killed on the job. He was one of their top associates, and Brianna had been confident that a simple undercover mission to scout out several places where Waldo had been spotted...that shouldn't have been so difficult, and it certainly shouldn't have gotten him killed. But she put aside her doubts and growing worries for the time being, and made her way over to one of their many surveillance rooms, where Counselor Beldric, one of her top agents, was interrogating Dan's brother, Ian. Brianna had often heard Dan talk about him, and knew that he had highly respected Ian as a detective, so after Dan's death, she had assigned Beldric's team to bring the young man in. He was their best chance of figuring out how Dan could have been killed, and whether or not Waldo had been involved. More importantly, she wondered if this Ian Kayner would have the ability to finish the job that his brother had started. As she opened the door, she could hear Beldric speaking to Ian through a headpiece, while observing the young man from below. "...personal vendetta against Waldo has been driving your ambition for the passed two months. I wouldl, however like to ask you to place your desire for revenge aside, and join the World Agency. Do you except our offer?" "I'm sorry Mr. Beldric, but I must decline. You see, I'd rather work on my own in this one." Brianna rolled her eyes. Oh, there's a good idea! The man killed your brother, your highly-trained, highly-skilled detective of a brother, and you think the best idea is to find him on your own?! Smart kid, real smart. She was almost beginning to have doubts again, when she heard Beldric mentioning her name. "I have already sent for the World Agency's leader, Brianna Goldstein. And I'll warn you now, she's not above using force to convince people." Brianna smiled. "I am already present, Counselor. Shall I proceed to the room itself? We wouldn't want to keep Mr. Kayner waiting for long!" The counselor nodded, "Yes, of course, Ms. Goldstein. But hurry, please. I want this blasted case over with!" "You don't need to tell me that!" said Brianna, as she slipped out of the door again. She then quickly descended down a flight of stairs and reached a door that could be accessed by a key card, a thumb print, and an eye scanner. Mr. Kayner had been escorted to one of the higher-security cells; they didn't want to lose the brother of an agent who had just been killed. Brianna passed each test successfully, as usual, and entered the room swiftly. "Hello, Mr. Kayner," she said in a calm, polite voice, "My name is Brianna Goldstein, Head of the World Agency." She was about to offer a hand-shake when she looked down and remembered that he was being restrained; no point in looking like she was taunting him. "You'll have to forgive us for your current...arrangement. But the circumstances behind your brother's death, among other things, made us feel that this was the best way to talk to you face-to-face." |

Rep Power: 2 ![]() Level: 14 EXP: | Ian watched as a tall, dark haired woman entered into the room, just outside of the light over his head. So this is the best way to talk to me face to face? If this is how they recruit people, I'd sure hate to get fired. He looked up at Goldstein. His expression was ill defined, and his next sarcastic words slipped out without him thinking about what he was saying. His hatred of Waldo for killing his brother was taking root in him, and he wasn't thinking straight. He wanted out of the bindings, and the sooner he could, the better. "Tell me, Agent Goldstein," he said starring her in the eye, "Do you follow this procedure for every relative of dead agents? Or is this just your way of saying that you like me?" |

Rep Power: 6 ![]() ![]() Level: 22 EXP: | Oh, we have ourselves a wisecraker, do we? thought Brianna. "If that's what a girl says to you when she likes you, I'd hate to think about the state of your love life. But we're not here to chit-chat. I'd have thought that you would be the last person to joke about your brother's death. I apologize if I was wrong." Now that that was out of the way, Brianna began to pace the room in a professional manner. "We might as well cut to the chase. Your brother was one of our finest agents. I never would have expected Waldo to take him down, but it seeems as though he has. For the time being, you are our best hope at discovering where Daniel went for his assignment and what he may have discovered. Don't think you can take this man on your own: you can't. If you truly want revenge..." And I suggest you drop that particular attitude, unless you want to end up dead from doing something rash and stupid, she thought, "...your best chance is to help us. Do you accept, or are you going to keep being difficult?" |

Rep Power: 2 ![]() Level: 14 EXP: | Ian began to weigh his options. Both the Agency and working alone had their advantages. If he were to work the case on his own, he'd have an easier time staying out of Waldo's knowledge. Ian was convinced that Waldo would target the World Agents, and being affiliated with them be a sure way to draw him out. But wasn't that what Ian wanted? He thought of his other option. As he concluded, Waldo was sure to be drawn out by the appearance of a World Agent, which would put Ian in a position to deal with him. In addition, he would have the support of ther agents on the case. "Alright," he said. "I'll join the World Agency. I'd shake your hand on this deal, but" he nodded at the bindings on his wrists. "Well, you know." |

Rep Power: 3 ![]() Level: 11 EXP: | L strolled into the headquarters of the World Agency, accompanied by an armed escort of 10 heavily armed men. Like they would help. If Waldo decided to attack, they wouldn't live. But still, Waldo wouldn't strike at the center of the World Agency... would he? That would cripple the force spectacularly, and may give him the edge to continue his actions without restraint... and if so, how? Where? When? " 'Cuse me sir, but follow me please." One of the guard said as they entered the inner rooms, having been identity checked multiple times. L simply nodded absent mindledly and followed, his mind searching the layout for weaknesses. A secretary came out to meet him. "We are honored by your presence, L. We hope to make great progress with you helping us. Waldo has proved to be quite the character... Please wait, our head of Agency is currently unavailable." "That's alright," L said. "I'll go see her right now." "But... she unavailable..." the Secretary repeated. "I know. I'll go see her right now." And without a second glance he walked past her and peered through the small one sided mirror into the room. A young man was restrained inside, with a dark haired women standing over him. He knocked and entered the room. |

Rep Power: 8 ![]() Level: 27 EXP: | Waldo W. Walden lounged against a wall, enjoying the sights and sounds of Tokyo city. "Ah, what better place to hide out then Tokyo, the land of the rising sun, innovation, and girls that'll pretend to be your girlfriend for a few hours if you pay them enough. Isn't that right, Mikoto? Sakura?" he asked, looking in turn at the two girls on his arms. He'd specially requested they both wear a one-piece, red and white striped dress, and given them each a bobble hat like his own. "But... Mr Waldo, you paid not us!" Sakura protested. With a warm smile Waldo explained: "No, but I killed your Yakuzha boss and all his enforcers, and unless you want to meet the same fate, you'll keep your whore mouth shut. Now, I need money for my master plan. That's where you two come in. You two sluts are going to take so much brattwurst people are going to think you're german, and you're going to send all the money to my secret swiss bank account. And if you don't..." his cane twitched menacingly in his grip. All of this was explained with a friendly smile. "Now, on you go!" he laughed cheerfully, shoving them away from him and dissapearing into the crowd of businessmen and women on their way to work, Woof following suit. |

Rep Power: 6 ![]() ![]() Level: 22 EXP: | Brianna smiled in satisfaction. Success! Now they could pick up where Dan had left off, and finish Mr. Walden off for good. "My apologies," she said shortly, as Ian gestured to the metal straps that still bound him to the chair. "If you sit still, I'll remove those, and then you can follow me to my office, where we can discuss business." All the same, she kept her tazer gun close by, in case he was lying and tried to escape. He would sorely regret it if this was true. But before Brianna could do anything else, the door opened, and in walked a young man that she had never expected to see here. Well, okay, she hadn't expected anyone to just walk into the interrogation room while she was on duty, but especially not him. Then again, if anyone had the guts to pull off a stunt like this, knowing full well that he could get away with it, it was L. "L, what, dare I ask, are you doing here?" Brianna snapped at him. She hadn't seen him since that odd case in Japan several years ago, involving a killing device referred to by L as a "death note." Other than that, he was more of an ally to the World Agency; a mysterious but brilliant strategist who operated in Japan. He could certainly be of some use to them in their plans to capture Waldo, but at the same time, she would not tolerate his insubordination...at least not in public, at the base of the World Agency! |

Rep Power: 3 ![]() Level: 11 EXP: | "To see you of course! Your charming beauty was too much for me." L replied with a grin. L had usually operated in complete anonymity, with another person named "Watari" carrying out the physical contacting. But L had abandoned that move for this case The reason for that is that he had seen from the Death Note case that his anonymity can turn the very police force against him... and because Kira published a few photos of L before he died, to his great dismay. His once valued anonymity was no longer as powerful. He spread his arms out in an consolatory manner. "Actually the reason I have came here is because I wished to meet what new talent the World Agency had recruited in person, and evaluate their loyalty..." His eyes lingered on Ian for a second before he continued. "And I wish to request a special team to carry out the chase in person. I have reason to believe that Waldo is somewhere in Japan. And the Japanese police force is slightly peeved at me still from the last case." "Of course, you may pick who makes up the task force... not too many of course." L finished. |

| Keyblade Wielder | Chive was forced into the most primitive form of running away: running. He already fired off all his bullets, threw his knives, his blade was shot cleanly out of his hand without damaging him whatsoever, and he was outnumbered 1-to-75 easily. Still, he wouldn't get caught without a fight. He ran like mad, outrunning the majority of them while a few were able to stay with him. A few feet ahead, there was a man riding a bike at his own peaceful rate. Without another thought, Chive knocked the man over, took his bike and went faster without breaking a beat. "Hahaha!" He laughed to himself as the running men behind him were nothing but specks, "looks like I win aga--" He cut himself off as he heard the soft noise of a helicopter. He looked behind his shoulder and, sure enough, a helicopter was flying at him. His legs burning madly, he peddled as fast as he could. He knew it was in vain, there was no way to out bike a helicopter. It was right over him and a man was aiming something at him... But there was a trench just ahead! Maybe if he reached it and jumped in...Almost there...There was a shuf! noise as Chive jumped off the bike. Something clipped his leg and caused him to fall just short of the trench--just short of freedom. There was muffled noise around him as he blacked out, cursing himself for getting caught. They were walking down a long corridor, Chive and his captors. He struggled as they walked, but the handcuffs that binded him were no ordinary metal. "Getoffame." He muttered, struggling still. He had a small idea of were he was; those weren't ordinary cops. He smiled as they passed an open door with two men and a woman standing in. "Should have known. The World Agency existed...and they would be the ones to hunt me down!" They threw him into a chair in a small room, binding him more. "You guys gonna fry me here and now?" He didn't get an answer. He chuckled a bit and said: "Sure wish I was that Waldo fellow. He's got it good." |

Rep Power: 6 ![]() ![]() Level: 22 EXP: | "To see you of course! Your charming beauty was too much for me." L replied with a grin. Brianna rolled her eyes. She knew that many of her co-workers found her to be physically attractive, but she frankly would've preferred the opposite. It was irritating to have to fend off their advances, which somehow always seemed to take place when she was in the middle of doing something important and didn't have time for it! "Yes, I am well aware of your track record with the Japanese police force. With our reputation, we can easily prevent them from giving you trouble. And I know it's impossible to please everyone, especially with a job like ours. But I would appreciate it if you at least tried to abide by our words and not give them a good reason for disliking you. As for a task force, that can also be arranged." She removed the bonds from Ian Kayner and commanded him to stand up. "If you would both follow me, I can give you a full briefing on the crisis at hand." She beckoned them to leave ahead of her, in order to monitor them better. But she was momentarily distracted by the beeping of her cell phone. There was a simple text message: We got the Brit. Finally! thought Brianna. That Chive had been a thorn in their side for some time now. She quickly sent back her own message. Good work. With L and Kayner. Interrogate while I brief them. I'll come myself ASAP. |

Rep Power: 2 ![]() Level: 14 EXP: | Ian awaited as Goldstein began to remove the bindings on his arms and legs. But before Brianna could do much in the way of unbinding him, she was distracted by a new arrival that had entered the room. She was obviously surprised by the mans sudden arrival. The same held true for Ian. He couldn't recall ever seeing an odder fellow. He seemed rather jumpy, like a person who had just gotten completely baked, and he carried himself in strange fashion. Judging by the look in his eyes, he had been deranged for some time. All in all, he had the qualities of the social outcast in high school, who would always be ignored, and made fun of, and everyone feared that he may retaliate violently. But alas, this outcast seemed to have held in his pain until it drove him insane. Given the informal manner in which this man and Goldstein conversed, Ian assumed that they had known each other for a while. Why the World Agency would bring in a half mad nut was beyond him. But considering that insubordination would earn him a taser to the chest, he decided that it was best not to argue. It was especially a surprise to hear that the stranger had been wanting to see him. Was this man to be his partner in working on the Waldo case? If so, he hoped that there would be others as well. It was then that the task force was arranged. So, they're putting me into a task force. I figured they'd do that. I'll have to make sure that they set it up to my own ideas. Once finally out of the bonds, Ian stretched, and followed Goldstein to her office. On the way she received a text, most likely about another case, and Ian reminded of a call he'd have to make as soon as he could. |

| CARAMELLDANSEN!!!!!!! | Terra heard of the call to arms from one of her colleagues, Sam Dougherty. As soon as he said he wouldn't dare try to go after the infamous Waldo Walden, she knew that she would. She knew that the World Agency would be tracking her down at some point, so instead of them finding her, she went and found them. The flight from Dublin to London wasn't too long, and neither was the cab ride. She walked into the building and went straight to the front desk. "I need to see Brianna Goldstein," she told the receptionist. "Do you have an appointment?" "Do I look like I have an appointment?" Terra asked. "Where is she?" "I'm afraid she's not here at the moment," the receptionist told her. Terra looked the woman straight in the eye and gave her one of her best glares. "Fine, I'll wait for her. Where's her office?" The receptionist gave her the room number. Top floor. Well that just figured. Terra went straight to the elevators and made her way up. Ms. Goldstein's office was unlocked, so she went in as sat down in the large chair behind the desk and put her feet up. She'd could wait. |

Rep Power: 3 ![]() Level: 11 EXP: | L left the room as Brianna received a text message, and he looked up and down the hallway before sneaking away, sure that no one was near enough to see him. He slipped away through the corridors until he reached the thankfully empty elevator, and called it. While he trusted the World Agency and its leader, it would not hurt to look through some of Brianna's notes.... just in case. If he recalled the place correctly, her office would be on the top floor. The elevator dinged pleasantly and L stepped in, punching the button for the top floor. Waldo had many connections, and most likely there were a few spies in the Agency. And he intended to find out which ones they were. With Brianna's notes, and a copy of all the personnel and staff on site, he would be able to plan his next moves. Obviously he could have just hacked her computer from afar, but Brianna most likely knew the danger of digital information, and most likely kept the most classified files under lock and key in good old paper format. He stepped out of the elevator and headed towards Brianna's office and shuffled in.... and then saw a women sitting in Brianna's desk, like she owned the place. L raised an eyebrow. "So... what are you doing here? And in Brianna's chair also?" |

| CARAMELLDANSEN!!!!!!! | Terra heard the elevator ding from her seat in Brianna's office (that sound was so annoying), and heard the footsteps of someone coming down the hall. It wasn't Brianna, she knew that, but she didn't know who it was. "So... what are you doing here? And in Brianna's chair also?" "Wouldn't you like to know," Terra replied. "Why are you here?" She left the end of her statement as a question in order to get his name. She stroked the hilt of he sword at her waist, drawing his eyes to it. She was very good at the art of intimidation. Whether it would work here or not, she wasn't sure, but it always comforted her to have a hand on her sword. |
