| Bullet Candy | I have quite a few favorites. My most favorite book of all would have to be Alexandre Dumas' "The Count of Monte Cristo". I started reading that two years ago and have never finished it. The reason being, although it is an amazing book, it's one of those books that's hard to read a lot of at once. There's just so much detail. But it really is awesome. I've recently felt a strange longing to go back and re-read the entire first part of the book (I'm on page 700... something of 1061, so I'm somewhat near the end). For some reason, the book gives me a strange comfort. That's very odd indeed. Also, if anyone has seen the movie (the one starring Guy Pierce and Jim Cavizel, not the French mini series, which I have never seen), don't judge the book by the movie. I love the movie dearly, because it's a good MOVIE, but as an adaptation of the book, it's horrible. It's almost nothing at all like the book. They take a few characters and events, but that's it. There's so much in the book that was left out (at least four or five main/sub characters, and a few major subplots, just to name a few), and things that were completely changed (Luigi Vampa's role, for instance). The movie is far from horrible, as it is a good movie in itself, but it's nothing compared to the book. I wish someone would make a readily available full adaptation of the book, that leaves very little out (I say readily available because I hear the French mini series was pretty close to the book, but I have never seen it anywhere. It's not even up for download on any P2P program. Go figure). Sorry to go off topic there for a moment (maybe I should make a thread in the movies section to discuss this). That's my favorite book of all time, but I do have others. American Gods by Neil Gaiman is probably second on my list, followed closely by Stephen King's Dark Tower series (truly amazing read, that I believe everyone should experience once, even if you dislike Stephen King's writing), as well as another Gaiman book, Neverwhere. The Iliad by Home is an amazing classic, as is Beowulf, which are both highly favored by me as well.

| Ruler of Light | I love Eragon by Christopher Paolinini. It's got dragons, and magic, and demons, and wars, and evil kings... Just the kind of stuff that's normally cliche, but he pulls it off quite nicley. Christopher Paolini's coming to do a book signing at a Barnes & Noble near ME! Mweh... So... Exited...

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I have many favourite books: Generally, all of Tamora Pierce's books. The Redwall Series Harry Potter Lord of the Rings A Series of Unfortunate Events His Dark Materials Trilogy And a new book series that I'm reading for English, it's called "Tales of the Otori". The first one in the series (and the only one I've read) is "Across the Nightingale Floor". The book was excellent, it's all about ancient Japan, clans and magic. I loved it!

| Disney Soldier | Ring, Battle Royale, Left Behind Series, Da Vinci Code, and currently reading Memoirs of a Geisha which I think might get up to the favorites. Battle Royale was the best one though by far.. Not Harry Potter...I read the first two and got bored. It truly is an overrated series.
