"The World is Flat" by Thomas L. Friedman.

Wow....I'm really surprised to see I'm the first one to list this book. (Ok, so the majority of posted books here have been fiction) I know the subject matter and the age group here may be a conflict, but still, this book is extremely intresting and relevant. Oh well, I guess in the end it's up to the reader.

(I'd list other books, but I'd go on forever)

I didn't like The Hatchet very much, my favorite book though would have to be Eragon or Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoinex.

mine are in no particular order:
  • Phantom by Susan Kay - a version of The Phantom of the Opera, i suppose you could say its like a very well done fan fiction. It tells Erik's side of the story starting from his birth, its very good and i actually prefer it to the original.
  • Dracula by Bram Stoker - i don't think i need to say anything about this, its such a well known iconic book.
  • Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
  • Much Ado About Nothing - Shakespeare
  • The Discworld Series by Terry Pratchett - in particular Maskerade and Carpe Jugulum
  • The Abhorsen Trilogy - Garth Nix
  • His Dark Materials - Philip Pullman
  • The Twilight Series - Stephanie Meyer
  • The Vampire Diaries - L.J. Smith (i think.... i can't quite remember)

i think thats it, but knowing me i'll have forgotten one......

EDIT: I am stupid, i did forget some....
The Night Watch Series - Sergei Lukyanenko
The Noughts and Crosses Series - Malorie Blackman

I'm dissapointed in what the majority of people said their favorite books are. All new things.... Don't people ever pick up a book from the 1900's anymore? Everything said is from the 2000's, the plot lines, everything has been done already. It's too dissapointing... Don't get me wrong, I like some newer books, but they aren't generic.

My list:
Anything Eoin Colfer
Anything Cornelia Funke
Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
Animal Farm by George Orwell
Anything Charles Bukowski
Mother Night by Kurt Vonnegut
American Gods by Neil Gaiman
The Outsiders - S.E. Hinton
Anything Edgar Allan Poe
