You're a ranger. It's like a trainer but you don't battle with Pokemon, you just use them to get through obstacles and stuff. Anddd it's in the Fiore region, I think.

In my opinion, it's a decent game.

I believe once you finish the Stark Mountain plotline you get to battle him at battle ground building in the Survival Area. Only on weekends though, also another bonus is you can battle the Gym leaders and Tag team trainers you met earlier in the game.

Pokemon Coliseum and XD were factually shitty.Pokepark hasn't come out yet so it still has a chance.
