| Keyblade Novice | As I have said, games like DDR are healthy, considering you get exercise, and it most likely develops your foot-eye coordination. (Or something along those lines.) |

| Ruler of Light | ummm, both. The reason why its bad, its because you're not doing anything. And just like anybody else that has finished a video we play it for a long period of time trying to finish it and where not that much physically active besides burning 53 calories and hour moving our fingers. (that was the bad part for me at least.) The Good thing for me is that when I'm done playing a video I get this weird obsession of cleaning the whole house everyday. That's just me right there. |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() ![]() | Well there are alot of video games that actually teach you things. Ive learned some stuff from these game, and when I come to school I already know what it is. It makes me feel intelligent, lol. But yeah it is bad for you to be sitting still and staring at the TV for a long time. I've been playing for year: however, and I still don't have any problems. |

Rep Power: 7 ![]() | Videogames are NOT bad. Never bad. This is such a great topic. I get to bring up Columbine and destroy the threat before it even happens. Videogames happen to be awesome. They don't stunt your creativity- KH2 has inspired so much fanfiction, it's almost scary. Anyone who's scared of videogames should look around. THEY REGISTERED ON KHI. >_< WHICH IS DEDICATED TO KH2! To people who say: OMG!!11 VIDEOGAMES B BAD CUZ LITTLE KIDS CNA NOT HANDOLE THAT KINDA THING!11 One word. RATINGS. Everyone, Everyone ten and up, Teen, Mature, etc. If parents pick up a videogame that's rated Mature, they should realize that that game is NOT for their eight year old. It reflects on the PARENTS. If you go out to the store and buy GTA, and your parents don't approve of it, WHY did THEY let you go to the store? And if you went without their permission, that's a reflection on their parenting. I'd also like to see what game presents a step-by-step instrution manual on how to load a gun and shoot it properly, whoever suggested that. If you're gonna say that videogames kill people, allow me to bring up a very old, annoying t-shirt saying. "GUNS DON'T KILL PEOPLE. I KILL PEOPLE." ^It's the person, not the game. People say that Doom caused Columbine. Well, the kid involved, the main one, was already on medications and had serious problems before he did that horrible thing. Basically, the only connections between it and the game were that he modified the weapons to look like the ones in the game, and he wrote a song (maybe a poem, I don't remember) about how his life was going to be like Doom. He had serious problems, if you saw the things he wrote and such. You can't blame videogames for that stuff. If you do, you just don't have the courage to do the time for what you did. >_> So there. |

I completely agree on this issue. The people who play games and get the wrong messages from them are the bad ones, not the games themselves. And ratings are there for a reason, dudes. .__. It's how gaming companies try not to get sued. =D But, stupid parents sue them for reasons they should've be sued for themselves. Ain't life ironic? XD | |

Rep Power: 5 ![]() | Actually, Pickle, in the whole Columbine happening, the young man wrote a song/poem that only actually contained a couple of lines refering to videogames. He said, "My life'll be just like Doom" or something a couple times. He did modify the weapons to appear like the ones in doom, and he wore a trench coat. But people also believe that the Matrix may be responsible for that, along with a couple other movies. Oh, and he had his accomplice.... but that guy was just an accomplice. You can tell he wasn't the brains behind the deal. |

| Banned | Video games can either be good or bad depending on the game genre and the age of the child. The more violent the game (e.g. GTA: San Andreas) and the more younger the child, it's pretty obvious they will try and imitate what they see and/or do in the game. However if it were a game such as DDR, LoZ, Tetris, etc, it would actually help the child. DDR is a game that requires the player to be active and move around, LoZ and tetris involve stragety and intelligence to play well. However, getting too obsessed or addicted to games isn't healthy either. You might end up becoming unfit with high cholestrol (sp?) and that will DEFINATELY affect your future. Looking at Takayu's post on how it gives reflexes/hand eye coordination might be true. Because you have to press certain buttons relative to what happens on the screen will help your reflexes improve. D: Damn rightz. |
