Rep Power: 2 ![]() | Please. The DS to the DS is like comparing Pong to your computer. The PSP is more than just a hand held game console. I have one so I'm not just bashing it for fun. I have to say I have great games for both systems and I find the PSP much more fun. The PSP is pulling hand held gaming devices out of the age of 2d and God awful 3d graphics and text character speaking. Nintendo did a good job in making the game business into the public’s eyes with its first system but in hand held Sony has them beat. More features More computing power in a small device Internet connection Larger screen Better presented games Main stream games with better plots (For real Nintendogs and Guitar Hero on a hand held?) Hand Helds need to pull into the future for a target audience that wants more and the DS isn't living up to that. 64 to PS1 Game Cube to PS2 Wii to PS3 Sony is woo'n their target audience more. |

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | This kind of argument looks familiar...where have I seen it...? This will never be one-sided. Some people would always like the PSP and some people would always like the DS because different people have their own opinions on what a handheld should be like. My personal opinion (and I can see Dantez of Divinity is leaning there too) is that the better handheld console is able to compact the home console into a portable handheld device. The PSP mimics the PS2 by playing music, movies from disc, build controls in almost the same style, and uses a fast processor to closley mimic the PS2's graphics. The DS went the Nintendo way of being original. Like how the Wii introduced the wireless Wiimote style of gaming, the DS introduce the touch screen and microphone style of gaming. It is a different console entirely from GBA/GC. And you'd rather get that than sticking with the past way of gaming. So people get a PSP as carrying their PS2 around in a nutshell, and people get a DS to have a brand new console. But in the end, both should have that one aspect from the old way of gaming. And that was to have fun playing the games, no matter what power the console might have or what features it's got. Plus different games appeal to different gamers, and they would like the console with their favorite game because they know that it is THAT CONSOLE that they had fun playing on.

Rep Power: 2 ![]() | The DS is a super Nintendo compacted, given a second screen, given a retard pen thing, has games that can be confused with games on the 64, Super, and Nintendo if you don't see the second screen, and remake that has a shorter battery life than the original and even smaller amount of protection. Strip the PSP and the DS of all its bound features you get a diet version of a PS2 and a Game boy. YouTube - PSP vs DS YouTube - sony psp vs nintendo ds lite PSP looks better has a presentation for games (Which matters because it needs to keep the person playing) PSP Games Prince of Persia Final Fantasy games most notable 1, 2 and 7 CC, Tactics God of War Star Wars Battle Front Rouge Squadron Metal Gear Solid Silent Hill Sports games that actually seem familiar in game play Daxter Naruto Clash of Ninja Medal of Honor Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Tekken Jeanne D' Arc Bleach Heat of the Soul Loco Roco Initial D Grand Theft auto Sid Mieir's Pirates Socom Field Commander Dead Head Fred All have excellent presentation, game play, and graphics. Online play is much easier on the PSP. Added with the features it is not even close to failure. Go back to playing spin of games of Mario, Metroid and Legend of Zelda. Rep Power: 4 ![]() ![]() | This "retard pen thing" you mention is not for the DS alone. Stylus' are used worldwide for various products, heck I'm using one right now instead of my mouse. Stop being such a Sony faggot, the PSP is inferior to the DS when it comes to games, marketing, popularity and age appeal. Oh and uh, more than half of those games suck balls.

Also, funny thing you link to a C|Net comparison of the handhelds from 2006, because they did a re-take on that review just last week: Prizefight: Sony PSP Slim vs. Nintendo DS Lite video - CNET TV Ho ho ho.

| I Feel So Epic. | I own both. And let me tell you, the PSP has been stupifingly unimpressive when it comes to games. Sure, it's got great graphics, sound, and what not, but I only enjoyed playing a rough number of three games on that system while on my DS, I have been playing like 20-30 different games, all of them immersive and enjoyable. Truely works of gameing art. In comparison, all the PSP games seem to attempt is captivate you by art alone and graphics alone. Sorry, but that doesn't work for me. I like my games to have fun gameplay and story elements. And don't go dissing the touch screen. It adds a level of play and depth that I never had on the PSP. I've loved games that I played on the DS that I wouldn't have if they were on the PSP. As far as I'm concerned, the DS is where it's at. I'm more likely to put it into my pocket when going out the door than My PSP, because with it's touch screen and game selection, I know it won't let me down. It's met and exceeded all of my expectations while the PSP has been nothing but a big let down.

Rep Power: 3 ![]() | Not that I don't like the DS, because I do, but I'm concentrating on getting a psp right now. I have more than enough to get a DS, but, meh. Either way, each has a fair share of great games.

| I'm chocolate chip | I wouldn't ever say the PSP is't worth having, in it's own right it's a great electronic, but I practically can't even consider it something for portable gaming. When you're using the PSP in my experience you're like tied to an electrical socket with the charger, otherwise the battery just goes to shit unless you're using for only short periods. When I'm out with a PSP I don't feel like I've got a game with me, you don't treat your PSP like it's for games, it's an expensive electronic that you have to protect and be paranoid about and shit, worrying about it breaking if you drop it, the screen getting scratched from shit in your pocket, someone stealing it, or the analog stick breaking. It's not fun carrying my PSP around, it's a chore, the PSP practically makes you not use it like a portable, but at home..next to an electrical socket..with a charger...in your bed or recliner. And, hell, if I'm at home then why is it a portable? I might as well be playing the same exact types of games on a TV (which in most cases, you can find a port or a game from the exact same series on the PS2 as you can get on the PSP, only the PS2 actually has good controls [FFS, lack of a second analog stick]) The DS protects itself, the dual screens don't just function for gameplay, it gives the device a laptop like shell functionality, so it can just close itself and then it's a monster, nothing is getting to those screens, and the outside can take the wear and tear of a boulder. So, the DS to me is an actual portable, I can take it places and not worry about it being broken or scratched or any of it's parts coming off, and the games themselves are something that I can just flick the power button on, jump right into it, then jump right out when I need my attention to be on the real world again. To me, calling the PSP "lol it leik a console" is not a good thing unless you just like to be wowed by graphics for 5 minutes and then have the actual game bore you to death, it's not a compliment to the device, it's a chore and it's a console in every sense of the word, you're tethered to a wall in your house playing it.
