Default Who's Smarter: Humans or The Covenant?

Sure, The Covenant are technologically superior, but we need to cut the humans some slack. I mean, The Covenant are a collective of races that have shared their advancements, and all seem to have lived longer than the humans as a species.

Also understand that, most Covenant technology was actually salvaged from the genius of the Forerunners. They also follow a false God, but hey, who's to say humans are any different? Amirite?

Still, as far as their efforts go into slipspace technology, they're nowhere near as noisy or ungraceful as the humans. The Covenant could easily pick up where we were headed and arrive their before we did.

The Forerunners, obviously. But between the Humans and Covenant, I see humans being smarter in the long run. The Covenant just had a head start.

Epic fail of understanding Halo #1: All races in halo have been around as long as the others. The key difference is that the covenant (particularly the race we call prophets) figured out how to use the forerunner artifacts first. The Forerunner Dreadnought we see in Halo 2 and 3 is what is called a Key-ship. It unlocks the portal to the ark. It was origionally decked out with all the most awesome weapons of doom, and was single handedly stopping the elites from destroying the prophets WAY back in the day (there was a war between them several hundred years prior to our present time). It got de-armed as part of the agreement in the making of the covenant.

It actually gets more sinister though, since this Key-ship houses Mendicant Bias, the rogue Forerunner AI that went rampant and helped the flood reach the ark, totally eliminating the forerunners (originally, they actually planned on surviving, not suicide, as earlier theories thought).

they don't technically follow a false god. Rather they believed they would get salvation. WE are their gods. Covenant ships are equipped with something called a Luminary. these devices can detect things important to the forerunners, such as structures and artifacts. We (humans) light up as reclaimers. The covenant initially thought something was wrong, and that the humans were stealing and hiding forerunner artifacts, but the prophets we know as truth, mercy, and regret realized that the actual Humans were what the luminary was detecting, and realized their whole religion (and therefore their power, considering they had just done some shady dealings to get in charge of the covenant) would fail. Thats actually why they started the genocide.

Now, as far as your actual question goes, it depends. Obviously the forerunner destroy what we know. the Covnenat engineer race is actually their driving technological force. They actually created the brute choppers (although they were intended to be improooved farming vehicles as gifts for the humans. They got turned into weapons after a grunt tried to save the engineer by making up a story, since he was the only one who could speak the enginneer sign language.)

They are the smarts behind everything. the prophets are fairly smart, as are the elites, but after that you start dropping in IQ. The humans are roughly equivalent to the elites/prophets.

However, i'd go as far as to say the Flood are the most intelligent. The flood gravemind has 10,000 years worth of knowledge.

LOL sorry for the effort you may have put into that load of useless information, but this thread doesn't mention the Flood. Period. Hell, Forerunner is mentioned merely because of its obviousness. Take another gander at the question and come back later.

Sure Halo went off and things all started again at the same time, but I doubt all the organisms decided to manifest into sentient beings simultaneously =/ OHmyGAWD i has no ideas bout medicant bias u are spoiling for me cos i obviously haven got a clue wat im talkin bout =O

Who's to say God should take form? Can't it also exist as dogma, thought, idea?

Yer and I wonder who created that engineer race... it's a puzzling one.

Its called discussion fool. Thats why i brought it up, because you included everyone else but the flood. The fl0od should be far more obvious then the forerunners. I mean, you only had to fight through hords of them, its not like you could play halo and not notice them.

besides, its not useless, i'm just talking about it because people on this site are notoriously halotarded. They stop at "the MC kicks alien butt" and don't even really pay attention to whats going on. Have you seen the amounts of **** vs *some halo related item* on this site? and how many times do people just throw out dumb things? they haven't got a clue. I'd even go so far as to say half the people who play the game don't even pay attention. They just sit there, shoot aliens, and then get confused because they skipped half the cutscenes.

That, and i'm bored.

No shit. but once again, we didn't even have access to anything remotely like what the prophets and elites initially did. that was always going to put them ahead of us.

cut the sarcasm. besides, if you really don't know who mendicant bias is, then you only proove my above point that peopel come on this site without paying attention.

because a god is an entity, not a dogma and such as you say it.

they've been around, but they were not created by anyone we know of.

You're basically recycling the point I've already made, are we meant to be arguing or something?

They were created by the Forerunners, apparently. >.>
