I doubt Cloud has 300% of an average soldier's reflexes, can create strategic movements by analyzing his opponent or knows how to handle a multitude of weapons. As cool (lol faggy) as Cloud is, he doesn't beat the shitfaced Master Chief.

They both suck though.

Well If Cloud gets to far away he is a good as dead and if he doesn't get close enough he's as good as dead. John's armor and Cortana are hard opponents. A SOLDIER and a Spartan going at it just sounds cool. I think John would win though. Cloud can deal out pain and his buster blade may take a few rounds but I think John and Cortana would eventually kill him. Cloud is strong but John is no push over even with out his shields. I think John's steal coated fist and future steroid enhanced super man muscles would dent Cloud's sword and kill him.

John: I have a plasma sword and rifles that melts everything it touches, a machine gun, a laser, and a hot supercomputer chick in my head that tells me how to kill things better. What you got spiky?

Cloud: Umm... a sword, a few monsters I can summon, and some environment matiria that I can zap you with, make you cold, and scorch your armor a bit with.

John: I have to go save the world from an insane Alien I don't have time for you.

Cloud: Yeah I gotta go save the world from a crazy guy too.

John: Should we wait a week for some other member to make a versus thread with us in it?

The prophet of Mercy was killed when the Master Cheif pulled the flood infection form from his body (the flood neutralize your own neural activity, and so when you yank it out, you are pretty much going to screw up your brain patterns and make your body functions stop).

I'd have to say that i think the Master Chief is going to win (even though surprisingly few MC people have voted).

Even before Master cheif became a spartan, he was fast (which is why he was abucted by the UNSC in the first place). He was actually able to know what side a quartere would land on once it was flipped in the air.

Thats pretty fast for a 6 year old. fast forward to early 2552 where john is now the MC, just prior to halo, MC was testing out the new armor (previously, the armor had no energy shields) and he actually pushed a away a rocket that was homing in on him from a attack jet with his bare hands, and was able to leap away and survive.

Now, consider all the crap you have to fight in the games. Consider that even the scarab's gun doesn't instantly take the chief out. Consider that he pretty much fell from space usingly only a forerunner door as a sheild.

The Master cheif would probably kill cloud before cloud even noticed, even in his own universe. Spartan IIs in general are ruthless, and they aren't going to make a show out of things. He is going to go for surprise if possible, and just get things done the most effecient way possible. hypothetically if he had a sniper rifle, cloud's skull is as good as shattered.

In training, you could never get Spartan IIs on tape, because they were so thorough in removing anything that could detect them that they even removed the cameras the trainers were using to observe them, and would pretty much black out the whole place and leave, only indicating there were done after they were gone.

Its all in the books.

In the end though, i highly doubt anyone here has played both games and explored both characters thoroughly enough to know.
