I see you copied the full metal alchemist style instead of creating your own unique one. Fail. So far, all them pictures are fanart. Try drawing some OC's eh? Might actually help you draw.

Pedo, shush. The style may not be totally original, but the skill's there. The first thing to do before someone branches off into their own unique deviation is to get the basics down, which he's obviously doing :\

I would like to see some original stuff myself, but this isn't bad, far from it. Unfortunatly, Balmung is right in theory, stuff with personal drive and motivation is better than something that you recycled.

Meh, I'll draw an OC if you'd like, but I find them pointless ass I never get to use them for anything.

Maybe if I write a new fic I'll draw the OCs but then it's pointless for me to describe them in my fic y'know cause I could just give links to the art.

I'll quickly sketch some OCs and post them, just to shut you up, but after I do don't ask me to draw more because in my point of view they're a waste of time unless you plan on making a manga or somethin' which I don't.

By the way Pedobear, I've seen your art, and I can honestly say you're in no position to say anything negative.

Your drawings are quite frankly not that good, you lack proportion in some, and your Twilight Ocarina Link needs serious work, he looks way too skinny.

Most of your drawings are of Link anyways so who are you to judge me on fanart!?

Before you judge others, judge your own work.

Hey, Dark, I actually think Pedo's work is better than yours. His 'odd proportions' are a stylistic thing, that's how he draws people. If you watch, you can see a consistancy between them. I just respect his originality and resourcefulness more than yours, you know >_>

Also, you just drew Ed in the artist's style, which was what Pedo was complaining about. He doesn't mind fan art, just that you didn't use your own techiniques is what irritated him. No need to explode over something so minor, anyways.

The art is fine. It's quite good, there are few errors, and it's pleasing to the eye. Now, about the whole "ZOMG NUB U USED A REFENCE,DIEE!!" thing.

-Isaac's other work shows that he doesn't just copy one style and stick to it.
-It's fan art. He can draw things however he likes.
-He never claimed it was his own new style.
-You've never used someone else's style? Just to try one out and see if you like it? Trying new stuff isn't so bad.

Now, Isaac, don't get so defensive.

-It is good to draw OCs. :/ You can draw what you want, his was just a somewhat poorly worded suggestion.

Exactly. I know what my errors are cuz I always end up seeing them sometime while drawing or colouring them.

It's the fact that you drew ed in the original artists style and not your own that pisses me off. Anyone can imitate someone else's art style and call it awesome, but drawing a certain character whether it's fanart or not in your OWN style is what makes you good. If you're going to draw someone, do it in your own style. If you can't, don't call yourself an artist. You're just a cheap imitation. Harsh? Sure, but it's the truth. You won't get far by copying someone else's style and continously drawing the same damn thing over and over. Sure you may be able to draw ONE character in ANOTHER person's artstyle well in the future, but anything else will start looking like crap. Compare your Ed stuff to your Cloud drawing. The Ed stuff is considerably better, and frankly, the Cloud one sucks. Why? You keep drawing Ed over and over that you have no room to improve upon other things.

My style continously changes because I consult other artists in my school and online. I ask for advice and how to draw certain things that I'm not particulary good at. I get some advice and I practice those things. As an artist, never stick to drawing the same thing over. Push yourself and draw other things or else, like I said, you're not going to go anywhere. Take a look at my Young Shadow Link and then my Twilight Princess fullbody drawing of Link. The colouring improved drastically because I pushed myself to work on certain things upon CGing. If you can't develope your own style and you keep drawing the same fanart over and over, stop drawing. Sure some people ONLY draw fanart, but they do it in their OWN style. They atleast keep on improving THEIR style. But drawing a character in another's style? That's not good. Cheap imitation. That's all you are.

Actually the Cloud was drawn about two years ago, so of course the Ed drawings, which are recent, will be better.

Just a note.

I get what you're saying, but think 'bout it, if I drew Ed differently than the original, he wouldn't be Ed, essentially speaking.

But I do have my own style, and you'll see it when I post my newest drawings for example I have a bad habit of drawing long haired guys...long hair is kewl like that.


Sorry for the whole getting mad thing, but drawing is my craft (along wit guitar ^^)

I've never met anyone who's bested me at it, and quite frankly I've never been negatively criticized because there's never been a reason to as far as skill goes.


As for the whole FMA thing, it's not that it's the only thing I can draw, I can draw any type cartoon (for some reason drawing portraits or real life people is something I fail at)

It's just that over summer I watched the whole FMA series and fell in love with it.

(kinda like when you watch a movie and you suddenly feel inspired by it or somethin')

Anyways let's just all chill and if not agree, then at least agree to disagree, 'cause Pickle is right, fighting is pointless.

Aspire to be like the fine man that is Khas. He's is the most startalingly original and talented artist out there in the novice community, and he is by far my favorite. If you want, you could look around the Megatokyo forums and try to talk to him for a while regarding your art, but he's got a short attention span, I warn you.

Pedo is typically right, but it's good to see you found a compromise. Keep up the work, and I'll expect some original stuff soon :\
