Rep Power: 10 ![]() ![]() Level: 35 EXP: | Just some of my stuff for critiques ![]() I know the trees, Gau's hand, and just the background is bad. Any ideas on how to help? ![]() I know I forgot his ear and the tube. I keep on meaning to fix it ![]() The background, their legs, and Pru/Mia's face. (Some characters dressing up as Phoenix Wright characters. Hair, eye, size, "endowment" etc is a knowing change) |

Rep Power: 5 ![]() ![]() Level: 35 EXP: | My advice is that you practice. Your drawings aren't bad though. But if you are aiming to come up with better backrounds and to draw it better then yeah, practice. |

Rep Power: 6 ![]() ![]() Level: 22 EXP: | Well, I can't NOT love the Ghostbuster Cloud one for obvious reasons! For the Fey sisters, I can't say much on the littlest one because I'm not familiar with her character. I think Mia's nose looks a little off, but Maya looks cute! |

I'm working on Anatomy. Gau and Cyan were taken mostly off of references. Quote:
And more specifically? Excercises, ideas, etc. Quote:

I'm glad you like. I could like and say Mia's nose is Pru's nose... but I'm pretty sure her nose was my error.

| Undisclosed Desires | To be honest, Mina, your drawings look like they have been drawn by a small child. :/ First off: proportions. When drawing humans, the right kind of proportioning is vital. Also, add details. For example in the first picture, the trees are just thick, brown sticks with a green ball on top. Add branches, don't draw the leaves as a big bunch of color, don't make the trunk evenly thick and completely straight. If you are aiming towards a realistic look, read books and/or good tutorials about anatomy and how to draw for example eyes, noses and hands. You still need a lot of practice. But keep on drawing, that's how you improve! :) |

Rep Power: 1 ![]() Level: EXP: | When you draw humans, start with a stick figure, and draw shapes for their arms, legs, head, ect... Then work up from there, adding clothes, and details like eyes, mouth, and hair. I would suggest, looking at pictures of the human body for awhile, and memorizing where things are, how they look, and their shapes, what muscles are where, and then draw them. You can develop some techniques to remember positions of things like hands, and how tall somebody is to help as well. I think the average human is 5-7 heads tall, and 1 hand can fit inside of their head. Also about 1/3 of their head is how far out their shoulders need to be. Their arms end at the middle of the thighs, and elbows to the tip of the torso. On youtube, subscribe to Mark Crilley, he's an artist that has a lot of tutorials. You have to register, but there are a ton of them here. Oh yeah, vanishing points are something you should learn about too, they're very very helpful for drawing backgrounds.
