How will we be judged?
Are we going to be judged by the other contestants or other artist on these forums?
Or
Is it going to be another free for all poll in which anyone can vote?

I'd like it if it was based solely on the artists/contestants in the contest; forcing those who vote to provide a reasonable critique ending with a final score so there is no random "I vote for this person because they're my friend" or the inevitable "I don't like this person so I'm not voting for them" situations.

Sure it isn't full proof but it's better than a standard poll.

The way it is now, anyone can vote, but they must provide a valid reasoning. As I said, we'l see how this month goes and make adjustments accordingly.

Just as Dan says, we're including music this month as a test run of sorts. Because this is an Artist of the Month, we can't exclude musicians from being artists. That's discrimination (lmao). The only problem is, not everyone can critique music as effectively as they can with art mainly because more people are adept at visual arts than they are at musical arts. We may or may not include music next month. It depends on the outcome, and how music was judged during the voting process. Again, like the prizes, I'll have to consult this with Dan.

I have a question. Is a slight collaberation alright? By this I mean, if my boyfriend plays guitar and sings (he's chrispy on the forums, though you've probably never seen him post) would it be okay if say, I played keyboard or do back up vocals? Or would it all have to be just him playing for him to submit something?

I don't think we'll be continuing aotm. I discussed this with dan, and there just isn't enough motivation on khi for this to continue. Maybe we'll do something like this yearly, similar to the KHI Awards or Hottest of the Hot, but from what I've seen, monthly doesn't work very well.

Also, since I'm the only one in charge now, I don't think I'll be counting gifs as part of it, unless the sprites are handrawn.
