I thought that, for a bit, but then I thought that would be ridiculous seeing as how we already know Ben's father, and he played a big enough role in the show, imo. I'm hoping that whoever it is, doesn't already have a father that we previously believed to be their real father. I'd rather they just make it a character who we didn't know who their father was, rather then retcon their parents.

Well, you just answered my point. We never saw Ben's birth (if we did, correct me) So, why CAN'T Ben not be his father's son. it would also explain the abuse.

We did see Ben's birth. In his first centric episode. It was how we found out he was lying when he said he was born on the island.

I'm guessing Locke. We never did learn about his parents, with him being an orphan and all. Plus, that would account for his "specialness" that is constantly mentioned in the show. Also, what better way to kill the person you hate by taking the image of his dead son and then kicking him into some fire.

It was him using his biological standing as a way to con him. He truly was his father. And he played into Locke's needs of wanting a connection with the dad he never knew, but he really was his dad.
