| Friends in my Heart | I just got my first playstation 2. I didn't realize that the memory card didn't come with it. I was also told that when I buy a memory card I need to get a good one because some will not work properly. I got two games (Kingdom Hearts II and Ratatouille) one says I need 90kb and the other says 345kb. I'm really confused. How do I know if I find a good memory card and where can I get one? And what does all of the kb numbers mean? Will this affect the memory card that I get? HELP!!! ![]() |

| SHINING FINGER | Just buy an original Sony Memory Card, it has 8 Mb in it so you should have enough space for some time |

| Friends in my Heart | I was hearing from some people though that when they just purchased a regular memory card sometimes their saved data would be deleted and other things. I was told that if I don't get the right one it may not work well. So does this mean that there isn't different memory cards? So it doens't matter then? Where do I buy a memory card? ![]() |

Rep Power: 2 ![]() | You can usually get a Memory card from a local game shop. KB stands for Kilobytes, it is a form of memory. But don't worry, any normal Sony Memory card has lots os memory, so you don't have to worry ![]() |

| Member | One should be all you need. And to reinforce the other suggestions, go with one of the official Sony memory cards and you'll be fine. If you're looking for something to avoid though, I'd stay away from the Mad Catz brand, especially for memory cards. I've had some bad experiences with them on multiple occasions in the past. |

| Friends in my Heart | How many different brands are there? When I go to the store looking for the sony memory card it is black right? I've seen a lot of memory cards have various colors. Thanks guys I'm sorry if I'm bothering you with all of my questions. ![]() I wont be able to hook it up until Christmas because my mom said I had to wait. I hope I do it right. I do happen to be technologically challenged. Is it hard to do? |

Rep Power: 2 ![]() | Right, I would sell your PS2 if I were you because your not going to find many good games with it at the moment, and also you should sell Ratatouille and get Kingdom Hearts because there's no point of playing Kingdom Hearts 2 without understanding the story of Kingdom Hearts. And yeah 8MB memory card is all you need, it's less than 1 GB but who cares, also there are other memory cards like a 16MB one but you don't really need that unless your planning to buy 100s of games and I've seen black, silver and pink memory cards but it dosen't matter since they are the same thing anyway. |

| Their Will Be Only Chaos!! | Yeah I bought a PS2 the day it came out. I think it was 1998. I still have the original memory card that it came with at the time. It's a standard Sony 8MB card. That is all you need. It's lasted me a long long time and not once have I had a file get corrupted. Also I agree with Alpha_Sonix. Get rid of Ratatouille and get KH1 for $20 or even less used. You'll have more fun playing Kingdom Hearts. |

Plus we couldn't find Kingdom Hearts I when we went to the store. You guys pretty much decided it for me. I'm just going to go get a standard Sony 8MB card. I just hope that the Playstation 2 isn't hard to hook up because as already stated I am technologically challenge. And I don't think my little brothers (they're twins ) want to wait FIVE hours while big sister tries to figure it out. | |
