My old computer died. Now I need a new one to replace it.

1. Should I wait for Windows 7 or just get Vista now then get a new primary harddrive for Windows 7 later?

2. Graphics card: nVidia or Radeon? What model of card for whichever kind I should get? Is a dual-card setup worth the money?

3. Quad Core or Dual Core?

4. Liquid Cooling? [y/n]

I have a toshiba. Heres the info on it, on down. Because the bit size and ram vista isn't ass much as a pain in the ass. I've had no problems with it and if you buy from Best Buy now they'll give you a free windows 7 upgrade. Only complaint is no Bluetooth. But never really use it though.

Go for dual core

Download vista, it's not worth buying, you can turn all the fancy shit off and it'll be like XP

What do you plan on using the computer for? Liquid Cooling is a little over the top, just buy a really nice case, an extra fan is about 3-6 dollars and a CPU fan is relatively cheap.
I don't know much about computers but this is what I'd recommend.

Also, if you're going with dry as apposed to LC, than you'd be better off with AMD of Intel mobos. It's what I've learned, but I could be wrong. Also, make sure your Harddrive is compatible with your MoBo, like, some can't support SATA but others can.

What's your budget? That would really help, a nice video card doesn't have to be expensive but the more expensive ones generally have better features, and a lot of the time it's better shading.

Also, what Motherboard you do have picked out? Post the details that you have currently it would help the process.

Honestly, I have next to nothing so far; just a few ballpark figures for budget on specific parts like graphics cards and RAM. I figured if I picked out some possible individual parts first I'd be able to just match up a compatible motherboard.

Most pre-made Vista machines (when bought from big retailers) are including a free upgrade to Windows7 now, btw.

nVidia - Any higher end off of the GeForce. I wouldn't use multiple cards unless you're really going to game.

Quad is always nice but Dual Core works fine.

Yes, if you can afford it. Otherwise; No.
