Default Disc Problem

Yeah so i'm trying to install Guild Wars onto my computer. When I load it into the drive, a little disc comes next to the cursor, signaling that its loading, then it stops. I can't find it in the C drive or anything. How do I get it running?

You won't find it on your C drive until it's actually installed. Open up My Computer, right click > Explore your disk drive (which should have a Guild Wars logo on if if the disk is in), and then double click on setup.exe (or something similar - you also may not see the extension) in the new window that opens. This will run the installer so you can actually play the game.

See this is the problem. It has no logo in at all, but the disc is in.

I right click explore on the C drive and the only four things that come up are:
Documents and Settings
Program Files
Instmp
Windows

It would be in your F drive. Your C Drive is the Hard Drive.

Not necessarily F since all computers are different in terms of drive lettering but like I said before, you won't find it in C (which should be labeled something like Local Disk) yet. Generally, unless you have another hard drive or multiple disc drives in your computer, your disc drive will be labeled D. If you're unsure of what you need to do, take a screen shot of the opened My Computer window with the Guild Wars disc in and post it here. That will help to explain things for your actual setup.

Well my camera don't work so I can't do that. And when I go to Explore the D drive, it says insert a disc into the drive.

But when I open my computer this is what comes up.

Files Stored on This Computer:
Shared Documents
User's Documents

Hard Disc Drives:
Local Disc C

Devices with Removable Storage:
3.5 Floppy Disc A
CD Drive D

Nothing else to it.

You can do it all from the computer. . .

Just open up My Computer, then on your keyboard there should be a little button that says Prt Scr, which means Print Screen. You then open up something like Paint and paste the picture in there. Then you have to take that picture and upload it somewhere, like Photobucket. The provide us with a link.

That's as best as I could upload it.

So if you can just sharpen the image and there ya go. Hope it helps.

I can barely see the picture. But I don't really know why it would be Dion that.

Hit the Prt Scr button on your keyboard, this takes a screenshot.
Open MSPaint, then right click > paste the image.
Save it, and upload to Photobucket.

Yeah I know this. How do you get it to read the disc? It's kind of uncommon to me seeing as any other disc besides this one works, and just on this computer.

hmmm. mebe get a refund. try a different disc or something.

edit: buy eye of the north or something. all you need is one installation disc. then after that, it loads from the GW patcher. idk what you should do.

do you have 1 or 2 places to put discs on your tower?
