| Keyblade Wielder | YouTube - Gmail Drive -Use the Gmail Space as an External Hard-Drive! Dunno how many of you have seen this, but essentially you can get 6 gigs of external drive for free. |

| Keyblade Novice | That's Gpace. It's an addon for Firefox which allows you to store stuff on Gmail through a unique transfer and download GUI. It is easy to use, yes. I rarely use it, though, only for music and videos I want to open on someone else-s computer. |

Abusing Google's network is always great fun but I personally prefer actual hard drives. It cost roughly 17 cents per gigabyte now a days, but can't complain about free storage if I needed it. Edit: Looking through the help file, and the other catch is: "The file size is limited to 20 Mb because this is the attachment size limit Google imposes on all mails. Since the filename must be available on the message subject line, the full filename length is limited to about 65 characters." Last edited by square-enix; 06/02/08 at 01:59 AM. | |

| EVIL NETWORK OVERLORD | But uploading and downloading from those sites will take time.. especially the former. I don't want to wait three days to upload a full rip of Advent Children to a server on the web. (As long as I don't intend on sharing to a friend.) Its easier to just use a *real* external drive.. and I won't have to wait hours for the movies to load! ...for those that require insane storage, can build your own NAS (Network Attached Storage) boxes with some spare parts & FreeNAS. Grab an old P4 or Athlon X2, a few hundred megs of ram, and a few (MASSIVE) 1TB harddrives.. and you have yourself a fileserver. Of course if your really serious, go with Cat6 cables & Gigabit routers & Nics. Or you'll be limited to your 10/100 network speeds. : ( Peace. Truth. Love. ~~Azu |
