Laptop decision

Can you guys help me find a good laptop to use?

I am NOT getting an Apple (sorry)

I usually just surf the internet, listen to music (iTunes) and use Word and Photoshop.

I will use this for school.

I know this is vague but if you guys have any recommendations to look into that would be great.

ASUS | Eee PC

Get the Windows XP version. Although, unless you already have office, I suggest www: OpenOffice.org - The Free and Open Productivity Suite for word processing, since it's freeware and is as good.

HP is the best. there are great deals at best buy. A good computer for your specs would be:

Amd Athlon 64 X2 1.83 Ghz
2GB RAM
14.1 in. LCD(1280x800)
2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz
250GB 5400rpm SATA Hard Drive
nVIDIA Geforce 7150M Shared Memory

You don't want HP/Dell. For one, they aren't really quality computers, not to mention atrocious customer service. If all you're using it for is word processing, light surfing, and photoshopping, she doesn't need to spend 800$+ on 2 gig ram 2 ghz monsters.

Im mentioning computers $600 or less. Plus, HP computers are actually built well.Customer service, well, never had to contact them.
