Rep Power: 3 ![]() ![]() | errhh, well, i´ve just downloaded Saint Seiya-Meiou Hades Elysion Hen-OVA 3 and there´s a problem with the file. Everytime i try to copy the file or burn it into a DVD, an error window pops up and says 'error (cyclical redundancy)'. Does anyone know why does this happen and if there´s a way to fix it? in advance, thanks :D

| EVIL NETWORK OVERLORD | A cyclic redundancy check, or othewise known as a CRC is similar to an MD5 checksum. The basis behind a CRC is that the server sends a checksum, and your file's CRC *should* match that checksum. If it doesn't match, then the file is corrupt. When a file is copied from a server, that file must be checked for errors. Most of the time, this is done with CRCs. If you keep getting bad files from different servers, then its probably something on your side of the network. Have you tried to dl the file from else where? Best guess is that either the file becomes corrupted during transfer, or is already corrupted (on the server), or you may be burning too fast.. Another possible problem is that you are trying to burn the DVD too fast. (DVDs/CDs also contain CRCs.) Try lowering your burn rate to around 2x-4x, and you should get a better burn. Lowering the DVD burn rate is also the easiest fix to try first. Since it doesn't require much else, than lowering your settings. It will take abit longer to burn, granted. ~~Azurith |
