Mission are at least 50% of the game... Maybe 75%, speaking of play time... I am just a little annoyed that they didn't use more place for the mission, it gets boring to always see the same places..

I don't remember fighting a Chocobo. . .oh well. . .

Crap, I've got a problem. Whenever you have to help Aerith make the cart, I've gotten all the materials, but I got the instructions before I got the wood or the wheels. The problem is, the kid never popped up and talked about the instructions after he asked about them. . .and Aerith says that I don't have all the materials, when I do. . .

I think they should remake final fantasy vii for the psp, since at the end of crisis core it said to be continued in final fantasy vii (or something like that), so I think that was hinting a remake on the psp.

^Yeah, I also thought that at first, but they could just be saying "and you know the rest" or "now go play FF7" because right after that point is where FF7 starts. It probably did that because this game is a prequel. AC and DC begining showed moments during FF7 and spoke about where FF7 time was from then, so CC ending would show FF7 and speak about where that comes in only then. Dunno if that made sense.

No, it said that because Crisis core is the prequal to FFVII. It means if you want to find out what happens next, go and play FFVII.

Anyway, there's no way FFVII would appear on the PSP. It's a three disc game, and there is no way they can fit all the original content plus the upgrades they'd most likely make(Hey, if you're gonna make a remake, then why not, right?) onto a UMD disk.

Sorry, but a remake of the original FF VII onto a hand held is just impossible. UMDs don't have what it takes.

UMDs can hold about 2 CDs worth of data. Decreasing the resolution will greatly decrease the size of the game file. Because you dont need TV resolution since the PSP screen is smaller. Like how UMDs can store complete movies in such high quality. FF7 was also a game that had alot of extra unused program lines and objects. Removing that should definitely give enough space for extras as well. Only thing is it would probably work as a port but not a remake in Crisis Core graphics and sound.

There is rumor about a remake on th Playstation Network, and then the game would be on memory stick, but what everyone expect is one on PS3, a true remake, not just a re edition.

Square said that they will do a remake only if they can have the exact same team that worked on the original game working on the remake. So far, they all clearly expressed that they wouldn't mind working on FFVII. Even Uematsu is considering coming back just to work on this. So, it's very likely they started to work on the base for the remake.

Beside, at the end of the 10th Anniversary Ultimania, they put the pic of the PS3 Demo and the text "We hope to see FFVII again SOON." That pretty well hint to what they are thinking.

FF VII is a three disk game. Even there still is the matter of an extra disk.

And that was the point I was trying to make. Even if you cut out everything that's useless, with the upgraded graphics, sound, and the added Voice acting, there is no way they'd be able to put it all on a UMD.

^Three discs is 2.1GB (more precisely 2.05078125 GB). But reducing the resolution and removing unused program lines and polygons and compressing unneeding raw files, they can save like 1/4 of that.

So thats 2100MB - 525MB = 1575MB
A UMD can hold 1.8GB on a dual layer = 1843.2MB
That means that the entire FFVII could fit on a UMD and still have 268.2MB free to do whatever.
Thats not all surprising since 4.3GB DVDs fit on UMD and still look hot.

Didnt they say it would take about 8 years to do a PS3 remake if they dont leave out anything?
Although, all the material is there, its up to them to put it together. Surely, taking the characters and places from CC and DoC, increase the tessellation to get a higher polygon count (hardly any effort required), then use the character and places' NURBS from AC, and from CC and DoC FMVs for the FMVs for this FF7 and done. Geez, I said all that like a total computer geek.

I has a question about FFVII/CC.

Why was Nibelheim restored and not all reduced to ashes when Sephiroth set it on fire?

As much as I would like to have a FFVII, too many people would complain over the 'terrible' voice actors the characters would get like Yuffie, Barret, etc..

Shin-Ra rebuilt it, Zack and Cloud were experimented on for 4 yrs.

^Yeah, one of Shinra's dark secrets. I think they just covered up all the evidence as if none of that had ever happened. In the people's eyes, Shinra and Sephiroth are the good guys and news of Sephiroth's (1st class SOLDIER) attack on Nibelheim was not supposed to get out, and Shinra only dropped the Sector 7 plate to stop those nasty terrorists from killing the power to Migar, that Shinra kindly offers the citizens, and to stop them from and bombing the place all the time.

Yeah, lol, if the same actors were in any other game than those people...nvm, dont want to start something again.

That is weird why they rebuilt Nibelheim btw. They didn't hesitate to leave Banora destroyed, in fact they destroyed it themselves, while they could have rebuilt it in same way they rebuilt Nibelehim.

I think they said it would take them 5 year for doing a game at the same level than the technical demo. Considering technique still improved, 8 year is not surprising.

Still, I am not sure they'd take AC and CC place : the game are at different place period, for sample in CC Shinra's Manor is like new, but in DoC it looks destroyed. In FFVII, it should be in between... Etc etc... What make me the more scared is how they'd make the map world...
