About "the gift of the goddess" : like Genesis said, there are various interpretation. But for him, the gift is his pride as a SOLDIER, he realizes it after fighting Zack.

Is it a useful materia? I managed to get 2 of them from missions, but I havent used it because I'd have to level it from the start where as my Hell Firaga is already levelled.

I see. I also read the link you posted, and it pointed that the gift of the goddess, referred to in Loveless, might be lifestream. It says:
Quote:
it is impossible for a person to become ageless, it is proposed that theory can be applied to the Planet, and in this case the Gift of the Goddess becomes "Nothing is wasted in destruction" or "All will be healed in time".
However the first part brought Vincent Valentine into my mind. By "nothing is wasted in destruction" I think it refers to the life force returning to the lifestream and creating a new person. "All will be healed in time" sounds like when the planet is injured, and a person dies, the planet can use that person's life force that has joined the lifestream to heal itself. So considering that its directed to the planet, the gift of the goddess should be the lifestream, right?

hmm... tri-fire is stronger but it doesn't look like firaga. i think firaga looks cooler because you see three meteors but tri-fire, you just see three fires. which is pretty weird...

my favorite materia would be hell thundaga and quake. umm... their levels and stats are uhh...

hell thundaga master mag+ 72
quake master mag+ 45

Well, indeed, Genesis himself thought that the lifestream was the gift few before thinking his pride as Soldier is. As for if it really, I don't think we can know, they don't want to say it directly. I am confident that Loveless and Minerva will have a role in the sequel to DoC. The true nature of the gift could very well be the Lifestream, or maybe something no one, not even Genesis, thought about.

Being the lifestream is still interesting, considering that in the compilation, only three person used as "personal" power huge quantities of Lifestream : Genesis, when he became Genesis Avatar (which is, since Genesis = Sephiroth in terms of power, his Safer Sephiroth or Bizzaro Sephiroth form, though weaker), Sephiroth in FFVII and AC, and Weiss when he was used by Omega. Three SOLDIER : it strongly makes me think of the three friend. One is Prisoner (Weiss used by Omega), One becomes the Hero (Genesis in his dream, and One wanders the land (Sephiroth searching the Promised Land).
So, if the Lifestream is the gift, it means, in my opinion, that Sephiroth returns after DoC. I don't know how, but if well done, I'd enjoy it.

As for Vincent, actually he is part of Loveless. Every character is part of it, following the interpretation. Even Cid in the original game give his own interpretation of Loveless.

This, for sample, make me think to Cloud and Tifa leaving alone to fight Sephiroth at FFVII's end. I think Loveless is like a prophecy of FFVII's events.

It would be nice to have the real Sephiroth back. He must still be in the lifestream. And if he resurrected himself once before then nothing is stopping him from doing it again. He is the son of Jenova after all. Perhaps in the sequel to DC, they will find a way to purify the lifestream and completely rid of Sephiroth, and finally free Cloud as well.
