Squall's terrible. Been replaying VIII and have only just realised how much of a boring character he is in all aspects.

I don't find Squall boring. He is even rather well developed, and going from what he was at the start to what he is at the end makes him especially interesting IMO

I watched the trailer again with the subs already. I didn't notice the different icons though.

How can Squall fight in his "Formal Party" clothes lolz?

I was hoping there'd be alternate costumes in Dissidia.

If Squall and Firion have alternate costumes, then surely all, or some if not all the characters have alternate costumes also.

I liked Squall in KH. Didn't care for him or his "development" in 8. It was kind of a 180 last I remember.

I guess they'll all have one, most of the main character appears with two costume in their original game (or spin off, like AC's costume for Cloud). And if they have not, designing one should be ok for them, I also hope the costume changement will be seen during the cutscene.

Not really actually. For one, the asshole Squall was all based on the player's answers to the questions. You could help people or let them be/rot in hell.

I'm a nice guy, so I always help out.

Story-wise, he made his transition when Rinoa collapsed and he realised how much he cared for her. At that point, Squall was already the nice guy he was in the ending.

The fact that the first time you see him smile is in the ending is because A) why waste an FMV on a smiling Squall when there's action and sadness in that part of the story (Adel, Time Compression, Saving Rinoa, etc) and B) you can make everyone astonished to see him smiling right at the end.

So like I said, it wasnt like *BAM*, the transition was smooth. You just had to follow the story...
