My Genesis Theory

It is known that an unknown 1st Class member of SOLDIER defeated and sealed away Genesis.

If you watch the secret ending to Dirge of Cerberus you will see how the energy that forms Genesis spawns or comes out of Weiss. And, seeing how Weiss is a former SOLDIER, he could have fought Genesis and some how sealed him inside his body. Don't ask me how, maybe he absorbed him through the lifestream. I dont know. Weiss does have a very strong connection with Genesis, being the leader of Deepground and all.

You are right. He said," there is much work to do, brother."

But you know how anyone who has Jenova cells is considered brothers. I bet its the same way with Deepground, the Tsviets, and Genesis. They all spawn from the same research, and Nero also refers to Weiss as his brother.

In Cris Core there is a mission that involves Genesis. Zack, Sephiroth, and some other guy go to stop him from helping the Wutai....or something like that.

Zack- wasn't a 1st Class at the time.

Sephiroth- maybe...but I think it was the other guy.

I think it's possible that it could've been Weiss. Genesis did only emerge after Weiss died, and it did seem like the energy used to spawn Genesis came out of Weiss. I mean, they said that a SOLDIER 1st class sealed away Genesis. They also mentioned that Weiss was a SOLDIER first class but you never hear anything about when he was a soldier, so.....one can only assume they made Weiss a SOLDIER just so they could say that a SOLDIER 1st class sealed away Genesis and have you think it was someone else.

Zack, Cloud, and Angeal are out of the picture. I know for sure they didn't do it. As for Ansem.......lol.

Yes Project G is the same as Project Genesis.

I would not say any of those guys are out of the question. Cloud, yes, because he is not really a SOLDIER. But, Zack, Angeal, and Sephiroth should be the primary canidates. But their are a lot of clues that point towards Weiss.

I always thought Angeal was the one that defeated Genesis. I got no proof, just that we havent heard of Weiss in CC yet. But it is possible. Wouldnt it be a strange reaction that Genesis gave to the SOLDIER that once sealed him away? I mean, if I were Genesis, I'd kill Weiss then and there. Unless they are the same person. Wasnt Weiss also sealed away (or I guess he was dead-ish but alive), and if he is a SOLDIER, then he and Genesis have that in common. As you say, the energy that brought Genesis came from Weiss.

I like your theory, but it's just G's reaction to Weiss that puts doubt into my mind.

I know it is probably going to be Angeal that defeats Genesis. But I would be so happy if Weiss made an apperance in Crisis Core.

Also you have to take in the fact that Genesis apparently has clones. Maybe the Genesis in DoC is a clone, or a clone is the one that was defeated and sealed away.

And like AA said, Weiss could have somehow been protecting Genesis. Although the only things I can think of that Genesis would be scared of is Sephiroth.

^Yeah, Sephiroth faught him and Angeal at once with a casual smile on his face. And AA, you have a point, Angeal could have sealed Genesis to protect him because they seem to know each other quite well.

If the DoC Genesis is a clone, then the real one is still sealed somewhere, because the G reports says that G was sealed. Maybe the clones were too. You're saying Weiss defeated the clone of Genesis?

I always thought Sephiroth and Genesis had the same levels of power. The G report made it seem like they were equal in strength.

yeah but in the trailer for crisis core sephiroth fights genesis and angeal at the same time sephiroth fights one handed and puts no effort into it. Its awesome.
