I'm thinking of getting this game, looks cool.. Neku looks like Sora o.O

Yes, they are the same thing, the green orb is the "Light Puck".

The "Light Puck" is an incentive to use both characters. When Neku is in possession of the Light Puck, the amount of damage he does increases slightly, when Neku executes a Combo the Light Puck gets passed to your Partner, and then your Partner does more damage.

The point of the Light Puck mechanic is to pass the Light Puck between Neku and his Partner back and forth, and then the damage increases. Neku does a Combo with the LP, gets passed to the Partner. Partner does a combo with the LP, it gets passed to Neku. After 1 of these Neku->Partner passes, the Light Puck will increase your damage more.

Initially the Light Puck boosts your damage by 2x, when you pass the Light Puck 1 rounds, then the damage it boosts is 3x. Another volley, it increases your damage 4x.

So, by learning to execute combos with characters and pass the Light Puck back and forth, you can boost the amount of damage you do significantly.

I've just got the game and I'm on the Third Day. Exactly how long is this game? It would suck if it was short. Somebody who's beaten it, tell me how many hours it took.

You are no where near done the game, I'll just say that the game is a lot longer then you think it is right now.

My first playthrough took me around 30 hours, and I hardly scratched the extra content and collecting.

yup i finally beat the game (thanks again muffin)
it took 26 hours and level 60 (hard mode)

off to extra stuff
