At this point, yes.

I'm not going to go through the whole game at 37, though. That would be stupid.

Despite that levels really don't matter in XII that doesn't mean that even though its unnecessary to finish the game that people would only stop at a certain level.

For me on each of my different playthroughs excluding my latest one I leveled up at least 3 of my characters to 99 despite it not being worth doing I just felt a since of well-being to do it anyway.

OKAY GUIIZE.

asdfasfstillseetthiiing

So yesterday, I officially went out on a quest to fight Zodiark, but it eventually turned into a leveling-up spree. It's important I add that I didn't have a map of Zodiark's placement, so initially I was just going to amble around until I found him. However, as it turned into a leveling-up marathon, I somewhat forgot about Zodiark and of course, I accidently fell upon him, without saving. Not only was I horrified at the fact that I fell upon him unexpectedly, but there wasn't a gosh forsaking saving point either so I never got to save.

If you hadn't guessed it, yeah I lost the battle (AND MY HOURS OF LEVELING UP), but to top the damned problem off I was 2-3 attacks close to beating him, which just made me all the more upset.

But my question here is to know what the hell kind of attack is the one which either kills you or heals you? I really don't get it, and have absolutely no idea of voiding it - is it really a question of luck? Because it once managed to kill my entire party in one go, (most of the times it two) and whenever I launch in a new member who wasn't originally in the party, he (eventually) kills them off with this deadly attack (it was called "Punishment", (direct translation) in my game). What stradegies could you propose?

Yeah down in the entire 2nd part of the Henne Mines there isn't any save spot whatsoever that's the added annoyance of trying to survive in that area.

Also Zodiark's signature move Darkja has a very high chance of instantly killing anyone so its best that everyone be equipped with Black Masks as they absorb the dark damage, but even still they can instantly get killed and get blinded at the same time.

For the basic strategy against Zodiark only enter the battle with only 1 character to start just in case that person dies as soon as Zodiark uses Darkja, which he uses as his first move right at the start of the battle so you don't want to be 3 characters down at the very beginning.

But yes a lot of the battle does have quite a bit of luck dealing with it since there's no item in the entire game that prevents a instant kill.

For my strategy personally I first made sure that all of my characters had Haste, Bravery, Faith, Shell, Protect, and Bubble on. After my initial party member (if he/she survived the opening attack) I would bring in my backup characters and it went on from there.

During my first play through Zodiark was killing my entire party quite easily since I underestimated what his abilities are, so for the most part it was him who was in charge not the rest of my party. But I recommend having swords like Excalibur (if you took the time to get it) since that's Zodiark's primary weakness until he tries to change it if he gets the chance during the later stages of the battle.

I just went out and bought this game on a whim. It seems fairly epic. I just defeated the "Rouge Tomato". Very creative name.

Lol,the "Rogue Tomato" is weird, but the name pretty much explains the characteristics of the enemy,a living tomato attacking anything it sees.

You will see enemies with weirder names when you go farther.

You'd better enjoy the easy hunts while they last since its the Rogue Tomato and about 4 or 5 others that won't really take you a lot to beat but after that you have to really work for your victories.

Okay, its the God or Devil hunt, the hardest one to figure out, or it it just me? I am having with that whole hunt. The orbs, the enemies, the hidden rooms & floors, this is just a headache.

Yeah the Shadowseer hunt can get a little confusing since its quite dark in the basement of the Pharos and the enemies are a lot harder down there but here's a link to the official walkthrough, just click on the tab that says "Shadowseer" and it'll take you right to the details about going to find it: FFXII Sector | Mark Hunting Guide | The Ultimate Final Fantasy XII / FF12 / Final Fantasy 12 Source.

this is not the place to discuss that.

Anyway, I completed the main game back in March. Should I go back this summer and grind through all the hunts?

You can if you desire to do so but basically doing all of the hunts are just extra challenges that the game throws at you, you'll just be able to obtain some extra gil and quite a few items that aren't available anywhere else, its your choice.
