Star Ocean Help Needed.

I'm on the Disc 2 and playing the Directors Cut.

Apparently, I just arrived in Gemity. My friend told me that there's about 8 spots in the ally list and mine is: Fayt, Cliff, Nel, Maria, and Sophia. Somewhere in the future I'm going to get Mirage. My friend says I'm going to get some guy named Adray. Do I have to get Adray because there's a point where I have to choose between Nel, Roger (Stupid Useless Kid), and Albel.

I don't want to get Adray because I want Nel and Albel. Do have to get Adray?

From what I know (which isn't much) you have to get Adray, and it is impossible to get Nel and Albel; you have to choose between one of those two. This is all the help I can be, sorry.

in fact you can choose between nel, albel, peppita and roger.
to B.B. you can have both albel and nel, as long you don't get peppita and roger.

*POSSIBLE SPOILERS*

You can have both Nel and Albel, all you have to do is:

Step 1. After getting Albel in your party the first time (before fighting Crossel) go rest at the inn in Peterny to watch a cutscene.

Step 2. After Albel asks his question, reply; "No, I dont hate you."

If you have done this correctly, right before fighting Biwig on disc two Albel will come and destroy the transport jammer, and join you after the cutscenes.

Final step. Getting Nel is easy. All you have to do is go to her room in Aquios Castle after coming back from Gemity and reply "We dont have time." She will join you, providing you still have space in your party.

If you want Nel first, do not activate the cutscene with Albel or Rodger, and she will come to save your butt instead.

Step 2. To get Albel after visiting Gemity is a little harder. First, go to Woltars mansion in Kirlsa. He will say that Albel is in Crossel's lair. Go there, and you will fight him one-on-one with Fayt. If you win and still have room in your party, you can choose to let him join you, or you could fight him again later.

I got Albel first so I do not know the difficulty of this fight.

that's how i got albel and he's justa pushover. he fights the same way he did before. the only difference is that he has more hp, higher stats and that you're alone against.

I assume you mean the walls with dragon faces on them on your way to the Urssa Lava Caves? Examine the wall or look at the color to determine what "mood" the dragon is in, and then play the corresponding song:

Happy: Lightly tap the circle button
Playful: Lightly press and hold the circle button
Sad: Press the circle button hard, but don't hold it down
Angry: Press the circle button hard and hold it in

It might take a little practice to get it right.


Also, since no one else mentioned it, Adray is actually completely optional, you just can't replace him with another character. Since you missed him the first time he was available, after gaining access to Elicoor II again (either through the Eternal Sphere or the Diplo), head back to Castle Aquaria and speak to the queen. On your way out, you should get a scene where Adray shows up and forces you to let him join you. If the scene doesn't happen, exit the room, reenter and try again.

Mirage joins you near the end of the game, after you've made it back to the Diplo and are heading towards Elicoor II. By the time you get them, both characters are considerably underleveled, though nowhere near as bad as Sophia, Roger, or Peppita.

actually it depends on what point of the game you're at. although, you're right he IS a pushover if you fight him as soon as you can...

yeah that's what i did...
