Rep Power: 7 ![]() | What's the hardest Square-Enix game boss to you? Mine is Lavos from Chrono Trigger. I've played many Square games, mostly FF games, but Lavos is the hardest boss in a game developed by Square that I've faced so far. It took a while for me to beat it, you have to fight it three times in three different forms, and trust me, this thing is even harder than Sephiroth from FF7 because in Chrono Trigger there are no summons! |

| Keyblade Novice | I thought lavos was pretty easy myself. havent played ff7 or finished ff8, so i'd have to say necron in ff9, but only cos he does random status effects to everyone, usually death. |

| Organization Member | I found Lavos pretty easy as well. If you play through the game at a reasonably steady leveling rate, it's not that bad. Trying to beat him alone or at the start of a new game plus to see another ending is a different story, though. When I think of tough bosses for Squaresoft / Square Enix, it's always the optional bosses that come to mind. Thinking back, I can't remember a single end boss that was too tough. Even without KOTR I didn't find Sephiroth that hard in VII, he just kept nailing me and forcing me to heal every other turn or so. Between Quad-Summoning Bahamut ZERO, using the other summons and hitting him with physical attacks, I couldn't have spent more than a handful of minutes fighting him in each stage. Once I learned of KOTR, it obviously took a lot less effort to beat him. That being said, I've currently only played nine Square Enix games start to finish. Out of those nine I think the hardest standard boss I've come across so far has to be either Riku IV, Riku VI or Ansem from Chain of Memories. Even knowing what to do, they're still hard and/or outright annoying. Add that to the limits the card-based system puts on you, and you're left with some frustrating, nearly-cheating bosses. For optional bosses, it's just the usual selection of "big names." Personally though, Emerald Weapon (VII) and Omega Weapon (VIII) probably beat me senseless the most. Ultima Weapon (VIII) wasn't exactly easy either if you're unprepared, but Renozokuken (sp?) and Lionheart pretty much do away with him without much trouble, thus making the trip down to meet him many times harder than actually beating him. As far as the seldom-mentioned Nemesis (X) goes, he's another pushover. Hastega, Auto-Life, Quick Hit and decent attack and speed stats are all you need aside from a lot of patience. Shinryu (X) was another optional boss that gave me some troubles as well. Though honestly, that was only because I never used Wakka and Rikku, leaving it a mostly one-on-one battle with Tidus. |

| that's when we'll explode | The Gargoyle when you're at the end of the Gnosis Ship(Xenosaga) was pretty hard... Riku IV is a pain in the ass, and Evrae is hard as hell. But out of all of those, Evrae is the hardest. |

| (E)motion Isn't Meaning | I still reckon Sephiroth in both FF7 and KH were bloody hard. I always ended up dying quickly on both games. |

| Heartless | Well i never really fought an optional boss in ff9, but necron was a huge pain. i remeber looking up a guide on how to kill him.. and every guide said just do your best. I kiled him like at lvl 50 ish. Then i went to a lan center the next day and meet a guy who said you shouldnt have even faced him till like lvl 65. but yea he was extremly difficult Edit: forgot to mention necron took my 11 times before i actually killed him. |

| Iron Tomato | Sephiroth in FFVII was a , I mean, he was WAY too easy. The only hard bosses are the optional ones, like Ozma in FFIX. That guy was a pain in the arse. Hades was pretty hard too. I havent' gotten around to fighting too many more of the optional ones, so it's kinda hard to say who else would be hard. |

| Keyblade Weilder | Jeebus! Def. Necron, no matter how stupid he looked his attacks were badass. Although I think Emerald and Ruby (FFVII) take the cake, oh! What was that optional boss from KH Aladdin called? He was a b1tch! Never did beat him, and probably never will. ![]() Xenosaga is Nameco's isn't it? ~Fantasy Angel |

| that's when we'll explode | Kurt Zisa. And yeah, he was kinda tough. But, you kinda figure it out after a while. Xenosaga is Square Enix, anyways. OH! I forgot about Seymore Flux, in FFX. Well, any type of Seymore, really. Except for the first time you fight him. I killed him in the first try. XP |
