Arrow Valkyrie Profile
Valkyrie Profile is a video game serie having three games as of now, although published by Square Enix, they're being developed by tri-Ace (Star Ocean, Infinite Undiscovery, etc).

Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth (PSOne/PSP)
Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria (PS2)
Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume (NDS)

The game revolves around North Mythology, with characters as Odin, Freya and features the three Goddess of Fate, the Valkyries, whose mission is to chose the soul of dead humans warrior to fight alongside the Gods in the divine war and to prevent the end of the world from coming Ragnarok. As the first game then its sequel goes, the plots differs a bit.

Number 1 was the best, Number 2 was a disgrace as far as the story goes, and the DS version was decent, but not really great as a prequel storywise.

VP2 brought an actually well done plot, while the one was really about character development (the plot was nothing special if we are honest).

valkyrie profile: lenneth was very difficult for me because there was more to than just leveling up. i soon found out that i could increase my character's stats by giving them titles. i felt kinda stupid but glad i found that out.

Lenneth was decent, Silmeria was pretty good but was fucking difficult, and Covenant of the Plume was a disgrace to the entire series.
