In this thread, post a piece of Amano's work that you enjoy, or comment on other pieces we've posted. To start us off, Shadow from Final Fantasy VI: ![]() |

| judge magister daniel | ![]() ![]() I enjoy Amano's work much more than I do Nomura's. I know quite a few people who dislike amano's distinct style for aesthetic reasons, but I tend to revel in it. Where Nomura's drawings certainly are pleasing to the eye, and very smooth, I'm in love with the raw livliness of Amano's drawings. I particularly enjoy his work on FFII, VI, and X, as well as the logos for the entire series, but I also enjoy pieces unrelated to FF, such as Vampire Hunter D and his take on Wolverine and Elektra. | Dial 'M' for 'Motherfucker' | Reminds me of Aubrey Beardsley. His stuff is a lot more interesting than Nomura's. At least he knew that Nomura's design of Tidus' outfit was horrible. |

| Custom User Title | Amano is an admirable concept artist. the only real issue I have is that the male drawings usually end up looking like they're wearing lipstick, so it gets a bit distracting. But, it's minor, and I commend him for his brilliance. |

| { No Life/No Death } | i think that the style of an artist is like an atmosphere you just have more interest for the one that comforts your eyes in his work not to mention the genre. His art works so much better with fantasy, in my opinion. |
