Question Which generation of Final Fantasy do you prefer?
Thread title.

Personally, I think that the SNES era did it the best, only because every step they took was not compared with FFVII. Not to mention IV is a masterpiece.

PS2 comes in second place, NES and PS1 tied for third.

The problem is, each generation had its awful ones.

NES had the terrible leveling up thing in the form of II.

SNES had IV + VI which are awesome, but had V which had Butz.

PS1 was the generation with VII and VIII with a 'mehage' bunch of characters. IX with Quina (thats a pro btw)

PS2.....had X-2. So it can't have been right.

i like the PS1 ones we got good games and the PS2 ones were ok but XII didnt focus on the story and i never played IV-VI so i cant make a judgement and i hated II so i guess i will choose the PS1 games

I loved III, VI, VII, VIII and IX so I'm going for PS1..
didn't like II and V (you fight a freaking tree >_>) and XII because I really didn't get the story, some of the characters didn't have any background and the gameplay was weird

SNES hands down/FFVI was my first FF game and the storyline was created so beautifully

The PS2 generation has been a total let down for me

It is part of the main series. I mean, without X-2 would you have known what happened to Tidus? No.

NES did great. SNES did Super (no pun intended), PS1 was alright. PS2 was lacking.

PS1 but, only because of the Anthology and FFVII.

PS2 comes in second just because of FFX

and SNES come sin third because of the original release of FFVI
