Arrow Dragon Quest IX : Defenders of the Starry Sky

While DS title Dragon Quest IX will not be playable at TGS 08, Square Enix president Yoichi Wada (pictured) seems to be indicating that the game will be available next during the Japanese New Year. Here's a translation of the short soundbyte that popped up on Yahoo! News Japan:

On the 18th, Square Enix president Yoichi Wada responded in an interview that the latest entry in the popular game series Dragon Quest will go on sale during the New Year's period.

The Japanese New Year's period is January 1st to January 4th, but the original text doesn't get any more specific than "Early January" or "New Year's". Though, maybe he means around New Year's, who knows. And what's more, it's not explicitly clear that Wada is referring to DQIX, though Square Enix has stated several times that the still yet-to-be-dated game will be out this financial year which ends in March

Yay. Maybe US will get it around Q3. I loved DQVIII. DQIX looks like DS's next great game.

I love anything made by Square. And I've only been playing two Dragon Quest games so far, Dragon Quest VIII and Dragon Quest Swords. So far the Swords addition is not all that great ever since I've been playing it.

I hate the Dragon Quest series. Out of all those games and there's no action rpg whatsoever. Turned Based rpgs are getting old and played. The only good games from the series were the spinoffs, like Dragon Quest Monsters. DQSwords completely sucks. DQ9 is most likely going to be just as disappointing, looking through a First Person View while fighting an enemy, what kinda cut and paste crap is that?

This game looks interesting.

Remake 1-3! Why? Cause I'm picky like that.

I love the style of the Dragon Quest series (particularly VIII), and I'll be awaiting this one eagerly. Although, it seems as if it's been in development for quite a bit of time.

There was a rumor a while ago that two cartridges were needed to fit the game.

I doubt that, though.

I think that rumor was debunked, not sure though.
If anything, I believe Level 5 will use the 256 Mbit cartridge for this game, its the largest so far.
