| I will incinerate you. | Hnoestly, LV, while you already know that I don't feel the same way, I can respect you liking VIII above all the rest. It still is a good game, and I respect others' opinions. I never played Tactics, so I can't judge it. But, VII and X will always have a special place in my heart. |

| Tyranical President | VII and X also have a special place in my heart for sure. VII because of many reasons, like it was my first RPG and, to some extent, my first PSOne game, and the first game I played to have a so well developed story. I think outside of the graphic, which were excellent at the time, and of the story, the world map is a big factor of why this game was, and still is a success. I think it was the first one to be that detailed. FF8's map was based on FF7's for the system, and greatly improved it. FF9's was also good, but I guess after 7 and 8's, it didn't give expected improvement. FF10 sadly lacked of such world map, but happily had more than enough good sides for making forget about the map, like the story, the blitzball, and the so depressing, but in the same time great, ending. | Tyranical President | I never played the FF I to VI, so I couldn't say. Not only they were nearly impossible to get in Europe, but when it became possible there were better games apparently being released... |

| Tyranical President | What I liked the most in FF7 at first was the freedom feeling when you're on the world map, it's at this moment I became a true FF7 fan. |

| Tyranical President | I mean that, unlike most game previous to FF7, there wasn't that detailed and big world map, generally you have a path to follow, etc etc, at least most game I played before FF7 had (FF6 and others had a map though I guess) With FF7, once we left Midgar, it was like, for me at least, "magic". When we got the Highwind, it was the top of what they could do. There is full of secret hidden on the map, it's like a mini true world, secret dungeon, etc. It's also what I find lack to the PS2 generation, like FFX, there's no world map and just "destination". We can't explore the world like for FF7, 8 or 9, use the ship, which is mainly why FFX comes after 8 and 7 in my books. Entering a code to find the secret dungeon is boring compared to exploring the map with your airship, IMO. |

| - i n00b pwns - | Ya, but putting the code in to get to the secret, is a crap load easier than going "OH SWEET! SECRET CAVE!.... Crap, now I have to spend hours and maybe with a little luck, I can get the right chocobo that can cross water." |

| Tyranical President | It's true (and another good point for FF8 since it has no chocobo in this way), but the chocobo are needed only for the final materia. In FFX, for getting the final weapon, it's again worst , like the 100 lighting to avoid, the blue butterfly to touch while avoiding the red, or the chocobo race to win in 0 seconds, I still have nightmare of those XD |

| Rush | Ahh, I see... yesh, that is a heck of a lot better to have it that way... It's more... whats the word... Traditional perhaps? More... Well it gives a better feeling of being able to relate, as I see it... Meaning, it kinda relates to being able to dig around in your own garden when you were a child, and seeing something new, for a change... Its sort of like that |
