Chocobo breeding is the best part of FFVII!! I wish they would have allowed you to breed in other FF games.

you guys are lucky...i keep breeding but i cant get a mountain chocobo(i have a river, i just need a mountain)

yeah it was hard i only managed it in my last play through, which turned out easy to do than my previous trys. although its been a few years sinse i last played.

I know it sounds silly but do you have the right nuts for breeding? And do you have the right type of chocobos? There's a certain pattern to it. If you do everything correct you'll get the chocobos you need on the first try.

I will forever be a chocobo breeder at heart

well, the female is B-class racer and the male a C-class racer. i have the good and great chocobos needed.

First things first. You need to get your chocobos to A class racers. That's probably your biggest issue right there. By doing this you increase your odds of getting a blue or green chocobo like ten-fold. Try doing that before you try breeding again.

I never had money issues because I was a fied fighting freak lol
Go to an area with decent leveled monsters and fight for a bit. Not only will you get some more Gil in your pocket but your characters will improve along with your materia.

If you don't want to fight I guess you could just continue racing in lower level races and sell the items you win from that.

why cant you get a red chocobo like in other ff games?

Because Blue/Green/Black/Gold are cooler.

Also, I make all of my chocobos S class racers before breeding as supposedly it helps in the chance of making a special chocobo. It only takes me a handful of resets before I get the color/gender I need.

If you're broke, then you're an awful player. Get an All materia... Master it. Sell it for like 1.5 million gil or something similar. Ta da. Money :\

well, i prefer to have an all materia, it helps with battle strategies.

when i played the game again, suddenly it was harder breeding the chocobos then it was when i was younger. Found my old memory card recently (praise the lord) and it had everything i worked for. All the summons, the gold chocobo, the Secret Weapons.......etc, etc
