Uh, I reserved it at GameStop a few weeks ago. I recommned there or EB games.

So anyway, so far I'm liking it. The little things like camera angles and more detail here and there expand the experiance. It's great for fans of the game, like myself (Cecil crying out in agony is just great :3 )

But uh, I'd say the difficulty is upped a bit. I died after Mist (goddamn worm did an Earthquake ), and the change in Darkness changes things at the start.

Edit: Also, the little scene with Cecil and Kain training at the start is kinda neat

Enhanced graphics does not give the game a new "feel". If you've already played the game, I see no reason to pay $40+ just to see the game in 3D. (unless 3D is your thing)
The cutscenes are annoying and don't add any emotion because that's simply impossible from the vapid voice acting.
The cutscenes are great (note, I've only played about a 1/2 hours worth of this game), they add a depth of drama that you can't get from sprites. The voice acting (apart from Rosa's) is also quite well done.

Personally, I feel the difficulty has been reduced drastically (yes, even more so from the SNES version). I'm reading that people are actually having difficulty with random battles and some bosses, but I think they're just morons. (And no, the assessment is not based off the fact that I've played previous versions of FFIV)
Really? I'm in the desert before the cave where you find Tellah, and that's sure as hell harder then the other version (Actaully grinding levels) . I think moron is going a bit far, and I can't see how you think this version is drastically less difficult.

Omni, just in case you haven't gotten it yet, I found it at Gamestop. They only had 1 copy left and I grabbed real quick(yay me!). Well, I'm not mad at the game anymore! I forgot about that save point in the waterway lol. And I beat that really hard boss. Yay I got the airship now!! And I hate what happened after that tough boss fight. I'm not going to spoil it though for those of us who havent played this before. I think I'm about 8 hours into the game now. I cant remember. One more thing, I love this game's story!! Much more interesting than FFIII.

Already got it.

Just the first few minutes throw you into a story that is easily likable, and all the systems from equipment to item management to combat are all well thought out, even if they weren't changed from the NES FFIV.

I know that but the game never let you outside. you go straight from that waterway into the castle and the door outside is blocked. That savepoint is the only place I could save

I bad thing about saving is that you can save out on the felds and not in caves and towns, sucks. Right now I'm levaling up Rydia in the desert so I don't have too much trouble in the cave.

You get used to it. And yeah, you'll wanna lvl up Rydia (and Cecil) before you go into the cave.

Also, Scarliamone is way stronger then he was in the other version.

Drama!? That must be the fanboyism typing.

Well, everyone grinds levels around that time because what's her face is lvl 1. At that point in the game, Tellah set to Auto-Battle with Thunder kills everything in one hit. Game's too easy.

I'll humor you though. As mentioned before, Augments. Bosses are also susceptible to status aliments. Specifically, SLOW. I'm sure I don't need to go into detail as to how Slow wrecks the bosses.

Okay, maybe drama is going a bit far. But the little touches like camera angles and detailed settings really add to the game. For example: Cecil's scene in his tower, Fabul Castle, and the Leviathan sea attack.

There was no need to grind in the American version up until the Magnetic Cave.

Fair enough

Had no idea bosses were susceptible to ailment spells. But disregarding being open to spells; the bosses in this game are, stat wise, much stronger then the American versions. The Earth Lord (for I have no idea how to spell his name) is a good example

We will now discuss Whyt and what you've done with him.

Mine looks like Big Boss.

Well, tried to do a Metroid. But, because it doesn't seem that you can do it anyway besides freehand (if I'm wrong, correct me), it looks terrible...

While we're on the subject of Whyt, post your Whyt's skills

Attack
Cry
Thunder
Cure
Counter

I haven't really bothered to mess with Wyht. I almost forgot he was there. I screwed around with his face a couple of times lol. That's about all I've done to him though.Oh yeah, and I played a couple of the minigames. The only one I'm good at is Cecil's minigame. My score is somewhere over 7000. Rydia's math game is frikin hard! I'm at the part in the story where I have to go to that magnetic cave. Gonna do some lvling before I go though
