I have no problem with waiting and searching for games I enjoy and even when all of those games are no longer in existence I will not lower my standards for pretty graphic bullshit, I might stop playing games but I certainly am not going to start playing bad games just to "fill that void". These people who you say have no standards are Square's target market. Not that Square hates everyone else, its just that umm...these guys and gals going to last longer than us.

These people are fickle, the only difference is that they can be replaced with others like them. That doesn't mean that all games need to lack substance for glamor.

It does make things alot easier for S-E (or virtually any gaming company) but I wouldnt say that their customers have no standards. I like games that meet a certain criteria, and happen to dislike alot of games too (even ones with great graphics). If an FF7 remake were to release, I'd probably get it, but I would only say that I like it once I've seen that it meets up to my standards. A new compilation title is something I am anticipating, and if its anything like Crisis Core (which exceeded my expectations of a PSP game) then I will continue to support it. Natuarally, if it sucks, I will say so, but I wont lose interesting in titles of the same franchise/console/genre/developer.

Companies don't care about what you like or dislike in the end, they know that there are millions of other idiots that will praise what you thought as pathetic as gold none the less. The companies shouldn't want easy work they should stride to make quality games even if it takes longer than expected, there is nothing wrong with having to do challenging work to get a good result. I would rather just one great game then several crap games any day.

So far, not a single FF7 compilation disappointed me from the ones that I've played/watched. Those are Advent Children, Last Order, Dirge of Cerberus, Crisis Core, and the Novel. I havent played BC or DC: LE so I cant judge those games. But from the way things are going, I'm guessing that when the new compilation game releases, I would probably like it. But I cant know or sure until it releases.

Fantastic for you, you enjoy the mediocrity. That is great for you but I would rather see something that doesn't have to deal with VII, as "unfinished" as it's story is I wanna see some more games like that Last Remnant game and different games like It's a Wonderful World. I'm glad that SE hasn't completely given up but they need to step up their marketing more as they do for VII.

I have I,II,III, and V. They're all very fun and entertaining...but voice actors and improvred graphics would ruin them.

How do you know this? S-E just has to work hard to make them retain the same quality they had before, I think this can be achieved despite the risk of screw up. They are already giving them improved graphics and VA's for DISSIDA anyways. They would need to bring back Sakaguchi though..

I might not have liked the original, but I sure as hell would buy a/the remake. xD I just didn't like the gameplay of it... If they modernized it, then I'd probably be okay.

I don't like the idea that people just play FF7. Nobody ever gives the really good games a chance, like IV and VI.

Yeah, I like Crisis Core. It is pretty fun. And I would probably buy a remake. But, that doesn't mean that I am happy with all of the attention that FF7 gets over the truly good games in the series.

BTW, FFIV is my favorite. Followed by FFVI. Then, FFX.

It's not that VII isn't a good game because it is, it's just that the game is seen as the God (or Goddess) of FF rather than just another good game in the series.

Other FF games like III, VI, or X don't need an entire series. The games themselves have a better story.

I agree that Crisis Core was the best of the FFVII Compliation besides FFVII.

No, that was only the other half ass'd reasons.

Yoshinori Kitase in 2005 said that when given an opportunity to expand any FF he choose FFVII because because of its status as a milestone in the series' history, its status as a reference in the series, and its popularity among fans and because apparently " the ending of FFVII seemed to... open up so many possibilities with its characters, more so than other games"

So it's just because VII sold lots and because Kitase "thinks" that the characters have so much more to offer than the other games. Any FF can be continued if you really want it to be, VII was just chosen because they knew it would sell due to the faggoty emotional attachment people have for it but I do love CC.
