FFVII PS3 remake or original?

I really want to get the original Final Fantasy VII, but I'm not sure due to the poor graphics on it. I heard there was a chance of a PS3 remake, but I've heard that probably won't happen. So, my question is should I wait to see if a PS3 remake is made or should I buy the PS1 game. Also, do the graphics on FFVII make the game less appealing or do the storyline and gameplay make up for it?

I think there was a demo about it? FFVII remake will be on PS3

No it won't happen this gen and shouldn't..

New IPs plz.. Square is milking FF way too much and they was a tech demo for FFVI on the 64, and FFVIII as well for the PS2..

If you are waiting for remake you have long time to wait.. Don't be gfx whore though..

It was a "Tech Demo", which means that it was simply a video used for the purpose of showing off hardware capabilities with an in-game engine. It was not a "demo" in the sense that it was a playable game, it was a "demo" as in a "demonstration".

Square-Enix have stated multiple times that there is no FFVII remake, the video was just that, a technical demonstration of the PS3.

On-topic, unless you're an extremely shallow human being, a game having dated graphics should not affect the experience, a good game will always be a good game unless you're stuck-up about visuals.
