"Saddest Final Fantasy death?" *Spoilers.*

Zack's death by far is the saddest. Aerith's death was...sad. Tidus didn't die so I don't know why he's up there. In many ways, Shuyin and Lenne's deaths were pretty tragic also.

i thought zacks death was tragic because he hadn't seen aerith in 4 years and he wanted to see her and died before he got the chance

Tidus's technically didn't die, hell he didnt even exist, hes just a dream, so I didn't care much about it.

As for Aeriths death....is it wrong to say that I applauded when she died? Honestly, I never really liked her =/.

His origins don't change the fact that he was a living, breathing, thinking, feeling person, who knowingly sacrificed his existence for a greater good, and when he died his spirit/pyreflies went to the farplane, which is the same place that the spirits of "real" dead people go to. Looking back, I'll list all the deaths that disappointed me.

-Tellah (FFIV)
-Galuf (FFV)
-Shadow (FFVI - Only dies if you don't wait for him on the floating continent, but it's pretty sad that he's just completely disregarded if you decide to kill him.)
-Kuja (FFIX)
-Tidus (FFX)
-Auron (FFX - not when he gets sent to the farplane, but when he actually gets killed by Yunalesca in the flashback.)

Any other deaths in the series were either unimportant to me or just didn't have much of an impact.

When Reddas died in FFXII I cried manly tears.

Other than that I felt no sympathy for Tidus, Zack, etc...

I think that Aerith's death was probably worse. I really don't care either way. Tidus truly die or did something else happen I forgot since I haven't played it in awhile?

I think this thread boils down to what games you've played. Few people here have played every Final Fantasy game, or felt it like someone playing it while that game was as current as possible. :\

Auron > Tidus. And honestly, I didn't feel a bit of remorse for Aeris when she died. maybe cuz I was a kid, and the fact that tifa had bigger boobs, but overall, i didn't really care for her. Cloud could fight everyone without her anyway.

Kind of close minded IMO. Not defending her, I just dont like it when people dislike or like a character due to appearance.

I never liked aeris much because to me, she didn't have very much character. Shes just this happy character who, from what I remember in FFVII, has only ever really shown another emotion, which was anger at certain points of the game. There was no character development with her, shes perfect in a sense and I was never able to become attatched to her.

I actually laughed when Aeries died, because of the horrible animation quality. Yes, it's a bit shallow I know.

zack's death was so sad.......when i saw cloud scream like that, it was so sad. poor zack. who cares a shit about tidus? why is he up there?

Zack's is the saddest for, even more so if you watch the japanese version. The song they play makes it even more traumatic as well as the cutscene, I cried so much it's just so sad :(

I don't really think that Vivi was the same as the other Black Mages

His life cycle was already much longer than the others

And since there were baby Vivi, he doesn't necessarily have had to stop
