Should i get Final Fantasy 12

i just went to gamestop today and got Patapon for PSP, i saw FF12 and i said if they didn't have Patapon i would buy it, but they did have Patapon, so now i am thinking of going and buying FF12 tomorrow, do u think i should do it?

well the only FF game i own is FFT WOTL for PSP but i want to get more into FF so i am getting the games and i watched the movies, i got FFCC on reserve. well i love FFT WOTL, i didn't beat it yet but i am enjoying it

Well, FFXII's battle system is quite similar to that of Tactics, so, if you're looking for more of the same, I would recommend it. However, if you want to vary it up a bit, I'd reccommend X. If you solely want to play more FFs, it really doesn't matter. Basically, I think that XII's battle system is the most similar to Tactics, whereas X is quite different. Mind you, FFXII's battle system is the most unique of them all. Well, at least from the ones I've played...

Anyways, all of that aside, FFXII is an awesome game, and I doubt that you'll be disappointed if you should decide to buy it.

i heard that it was a modified turn-based so that it was mor elike real-time because i like real-time better its just FFT is good with turn based

XII isn't a random battle game all of your enemies you can see them before you actually get to fight them. But if you're looking for a FF that has the usual random battles and a love story then look elsewhere since you won't be finding it in XII. However XII is a really long game if you try to manage to do all of the different sidequests like the hunts which are the real challenges in the game.

Also another main difference in XII from the other FF games is that your characters level doesn't matter what really matters is what your armor and weapons look like and how your gambits play along with the different strategies that the game puts in your way.

I bought FF12 and I could not get into it at all. I just didnt really like the fighting system much. The last FF game I had played was X and I thought why not try 12. Sadly, it wasn;t for me.

Probably because FFX and FFXII are almost friggin opposites.

Do you like good stories, and want to customize battling a step further? Then get FFXII.

Yeah, theres defiently no emo people or love stories, just politics (but in a good way) and i really liked the battle system. But i started with X, then went to XII

FFXII is a decent Final Fantasy game, but I wouldn't suggest it for one of your first.

I'd suggest one of these first.

Final Fantasy IV
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VIII
Final Fantasy X

Final Fantasy XII is an excellent game, but those just getting into the series or genre have a hard time appreciating/playing/understanding it.

Yeah, in all honesty, if you really had the option, I would recommend playing them in the most numerical order, possible. Then you don't go from like...XII's awesome graphics and voice actors to old-school FFVII's outdated graphics and lack of voice actors, completely and not appreciate the older games. But, nonetheless, if you're going for a more strategic game, XII is essentially based around strategy.

There's a love story, just not a conventional one. And I feel Ashe is pretty emo at time. She kind of annoys me, but yeah.

12 is a good game, probably not good for a first main Final Fantasy game though. The battle system is fun and addictive, but some people feel it gets stale quickly and can be done on auto-pilot. Also, it's the only FF I can think of with extremely over the top dialogue. It's well written to be sure, but it's not as casual as basically every other final fantasy game.
