That was one of the lamest trailers ever.

What makes a good VIDEO GAME trailer is one that shows... *gasp* GAMEPLAY! Not just a bunch of cutscenes showing the same type of action we've seen over and over again (*coughadeventchildrencoughcrisicore*)

Hey, that is super cool. The game looks amazing. You can hear the guts splat at the part where Prince attacks that guy while falling off that sky scraper. I need a HQ fullscreen version of this trailer.

Hm? You wanted to see Advent Children gameplay? I think all Crisis Core trailers featuring the actual game showed gameplay footage.

The protagonist is a mysterious young man with dark blue-ish grey hair with crimson coloured eyes (which turn neon red when he fights). He is the last heir to a dynasty, ruling the only remaining city in the world which controls crystals. He protects his home from marauders that plan to conquer the city and take the crystals as their own.

The protagonist wields a number of different weapons, including swords, spears, and lances, and can even induce them (telekinetically or otherwise) to independently move in the air to form a whirling crystal barrier around himself (hence the crystal shards being broken off due to gunfire in the inset.). He has also demonstrated the power of instantaneous teleportation. His physical features seem to change depending on his actions, as his eye colour turns red when holding his sword and his hair flashes white when teleporting. Nomura has said that his eye colour will change to more colours, some scans have shown him with bright yellow eyes when holding a different sword.

Nomura says the game will play like a more realistic version of Kingdom Hearts with some elements of a third-person shooter similar to Dirge of Cerberus.

Nomura's wish to push away from "light magical" styles (he specifically references Kingdom Hearts) and opt for a much bleaker realistic world. He wants the characters to be perceived as believable humans that the player can relate to rather than simply fabricated characters. Occasional violence occurred in the PS Premiere trailer, unlike that of previous Final Fantasy titles hinting the game might receive a more mature rating than its predecessors. Perpetual teleportations proposed a new aspect that may bring forth some interesting gameplay.

As with every Final Fantasy, the style of this world is unique; in this case appearing to blend both modern and medieval aesthetics. The main character's country appears to be very advanced and modern, as one example, while neighboring countries appear to have remained in an era similar to the Middle Ages. The main power in the world are the Crystals. All the countries (aside from the protagonist's) have had them at one time, only to lose them in continual warfare. They had pooled their resources into weapons, granting them advanced rifles rather than swords and magic. Now, only the main character's country has a Crystal, triggering debate over its use as it is beneficial to the military. Recently, a peace treaty was discussed. However, marauders with guns invade the city as the main character battles them, disrupting the peace.

Tetsuya Nomura has said "Versus XIII is supposed to resemble the modern-day world. I wanted to make this world resemble our world we live in today. This is integrated to the story as well but the reason I chose to use a Shakespeare quote at the beginning of the trailer is to make the tie with the real world we live today".

You forget the game probably didn't even have a set game play element to it at the time, right? Every single FF does this, they hardly ever show game play until like a week before it's released. That's how they made me buy X..I'll never go on fancy CGI ever again.

As an avid hater of Nomura and his Cloud lapdogs I feel that this game will be a complete piece of crap but I still feel that since little has been released about it that I should hold my hatred for later. Sadly I'm still more interested with this than XIII.

To that person who doubted the change in er..Versus XIII guy.

Oh well, if you look at GTAIV, you don't see any gameplay for that, and yet it's still popular, lots of Games do that other than Final Fantasy, it's probably because they're taking their time to study the cell.
