"Advent Children - 'Memetic?'"

Ok, im pretty much in love w/ the FFVII AC movie. I can take pics of the movie w/ my dvd player program on my computer, & i have like the entire movie in pics. Seriously. Ok, well, i was watching the movie w/ subtitles the other day, & i noticed that there's a few times when ppl say "memetic". I thought they were saying "mimetic", which describes someone or something imitating something or someone else. But the subtitles spell the word "memetic". I even have the pics to prove it. So, what do they mean by "memetic"? I looked it up on the internet dictionary, & other dictionaries, but it isn't in any of them. So, does anyone know what they mean by "memetic"?

The use of the term "memetic" ( deriving from "meme" ) is a term from Neo-Darwinism that metaphorically describes self-replication within a species. This would refer to Sephiroth being able to use JENOVA to reform himself biologically through a Remnant. The term gained popularity in the scientific community through Richard Dawkins' 1976 book The Selfish Gene, and has sporadic use afterwards. The scientific community isn't sure if memetics is a wholly legitimate theoretical science, and some dismiss it as "dogmatic", mainly for the assumption that genetics would allow a human being or other to be born again through genetic preservation.

Oh, ok, that makes sense. Thnx, this "memetic" thing was annoying me. I don't like it when i don't know what a word means. So now i know what memetic means!

I didn't know that memetic came from meme.

It makes sense though.

And I wondered about this after watching AC too.
