I have probs getting to the Lagoon. Up until what point can you no longer get Chocographs from Choc Forest, and thus have to get them from Lagoon? And how do I even get to Lagoon? XD;

Hmm... I get the feeling they knew when she could get it, just not how to get there. Sorry but its hard to explain the location. Best advice I have for you is that you should fly around on an airship til you can see the Lagoon. Once you see it, find the closest island where you can set the ship down, and where there's alse some chocobo footprints. Obviously you have to have the light blue chocobo here. Now you can't bee-line to the Lagoon, you have to go a long way around. You'll have to follow reef to right up close to the southern continent, and then if you follow the reef it starts to lead back out to the islands again. Keep following it and you ought to reach the lagoon after a bit of trial and error.

I needed both...I tried getting into the laggon once but was never able to enter...it's the island where you can encounter them Gimme Cats, right?

No that's Daguerro the Lagoon is a little south of that island, however you can't just enter there directly once you see it you have to first have a Blue Chocobo and move your way around through shallow bits of water which is kinda like a maze of sorts until you come across a small island that has a large crack in the middle of it.

I know I got onto the shore of that island with the cove and I encountered a Gimme Cat there...o.o

BTW, what are all of the "Sepcial" monsters? There's the Ragtime, which offers quizzes for gil (Guide to answers please) and non-hostile monsters you give items to (i.e. Ore) for AP...

Its best to go in order just in case one of them asks for a particular gem and you don't have it, since they usually offer the same gem the next in order asks for.

I'd like info on the Gimme Cat...it asks for a Diamond, but gives absolutely nothing in return. However, is there a way to beat it by force? The more you delay in giving it a Diamond (or especially if you don't have one!) its attacks get more fierce.

It's a trap. Gimme Cat is not a friendly monster; you can tell by the battle music. Don't give it a Diamond.

Even though the Gimme Cat does ask for a Diamond it isn't a friendly monster notice how the friendly monster music doesn't play should be a clear indication that its not.

But I think it absorbs all elemental attacks so you should mainly use non elementals and I would always cast mini on it just to reduce its attack damage, but yeah if you don't give it the Diamond it does get more impatient but like I said before its just a normal enemy in the wild that thinks it can fool players into giving up a item for absolutely nothing in return.

How much EXP and AP does it give if you defeat it by force? What levels are recommended to fight it head-on? The last time I fought it, my members were level 40-ish and they got creamed in 15 seconds.

I was recently replaying FF9 and have just beaten the final boss (very easily in like 8 turns or so) and i have a few questions.
Necron says how it was sent to send everything back to no life and to obilerate all life and creation, does that mean Necron has a master?
Also it says it is eternal as long as there is life and death so therefore the FF9 crew have only prolonged Necron completing what it set out to do right?

Necron said that he exists for only one purpose and that was to destroy, from his wording I don't think it implies that he has a direct master but he is just an entity that is meant to revert everything back to nothingness once the crystal has been destroyed. It could be said that Life is his master since with it wanting to take away despair he would have no reason to destroy.

Well it was either destroy him for now or let him turn the universe into nothing. He is eternal of course so either way your in a bind but it was better than letting everything become nothing.

well with something being an entity of destruction and despair, it sure got its butt kicked by 4 ppl. As far as light being Necrons master, i would think that life is the other entity. Anyhow wouldn't destroying Necron cause some sort of imbalance

i think im not getting something here
