Yeah, I also agree! The added bonus of including flashbacks to the original game (recreating the best moments, like the fight you mentioned) along with the new story would give it more depth as well. I just really wish the fans could get together and corner them for a movie. ._.
Ah but we tried to corner them so many times. How many petitions have been made regarding a remake/movie/new game for FFVIII?

Square sucks when it comes to FFVIII. Their best game is right there, and yet they waste time on FFVII.

FFVIII wasnt nearly their best game in my mind but it was a good game. I still think the magic system in that game was the worse cause you had no reason to use any of the magic besides cure and esuna. The rest were just pointless.

Aura was helpful. As was Protect, Shell, Reflect and Full-Life, plus Ultima and Holy.

Honestly, in no FF game is magic useful in the end. Take FF7/9/10. You use Fire at first, but then Fira is stronger so you use that, and later on Firaga is stronger, and afterwards Ultima becomes the strongest one. In the end though, it's the physical attacks that do most justice in a fight...

8 was great. Except for the lack of emphasis on chocobos.

That is all.

The only time really that I even bothered to ride a chocobo in VIII was after you had to fight the 3 different versions of the sorceress after the time compression episode where you had to walk your way back to the Ragnarok.

I would love to see a remake of this game. I prefer this Final Fantasy to Final Fantasy VII, VII was overrated I think and has too much hype surrounding it. No offence to the game, it was a pretty good game, one of the best yes....but not THE best game of all time or whatever they say. I do think they should remake VII as well as VIII...

=\ I like the ramakes of the other FF's and how they started from bottom and go up, but they should remake VII and VIII....=\ I would love to see Squall and that in next-gen graphics.

Pahhaah chocobo's were cool in this game, but the only time I used them were in battle "Ghyasl Greens" to summon Boko and well......after TIME KOMPRESSION XD like Ultimecia can't seem to use C and says K's instead.

The magic system was quite new to the series, if you ask me and hasn't been used again. the MP system was put back in. =\ I liked the idea of stocking magic from enemies and draw points. And drawing GF's from different bosses. I also liked the Junctioning system and how you use magic to boosts your stats which GF's learn the abilities to be able to do that. That was quite intriguing and an interesting system.

But alas, I doubt they will make a remake of this game, since S-E just can't be bothered. =\ T_T and yeah the magic in every FF game doesn't get used that much at the end, unless it's like FF3 or something and you have a Black Mage/Sage in your party XD

One magic that eluded me was "Meltdown", I never really understood the concept of it and how it works...I know it reduces the VIT to 0, but what does that achieve?

Fast enemies. Best magic trick to beat King Cactuar on the Cactuar Island. Normally he dodges your attack a lot of times, but with Meltdown, he can't.

Best game to ever be invented. Second RPG I ever played. This game is amazing. Squall was just a normal human with no special abilities that could kick major ass.

My favorite part of the game is the game is at the end of the SeeD test when Squall is running the beach on the beach to get away from that mechanical spider and jumps to get on the boat then Quistis destroys the spider with a gatling gun. Quistis with Gatling Gun FTW!

SQUALL AND RINOA FTW!

I beat Omega Weapon in my first try. Used that item that makes you invincible then wailed on it with Lionheart, Zell's strongest limit break, and Irvine's Plasma Bullets. Easy victory with in like 8-12 turns. Seriously.

lol I didn't like beating enemies which I made them easy to win...like Ultima and Omega weapon...I just left them as they are, exception for meltdown (I used it anyway...XD i just thought why not?) and buffs like protect/shell/haste etc..i used no limit breaks unless they came up the normal way (no aura). they took me atleast 2 hours to beat and I enjoyed the challenge XD then I got annoyed and got Zell to use Kamikaze XD and that was my finishing attack lol XD.....

I normally used:
Squall, Rinoa and Irvine

if Rinoa wasn't present:
Squall, Zell and Irvine and sometimes Selphie....I never liked Quistis that much anyway XD

Meltdown for me was pretty much the only spell that I used on a frequent basis against bosses for the most part anyway or unless I would just summon Doomtrain to do the work if I had someone with 100% compatibility to summon it quicker.

Doomtrain makes the game alot easier after you're able to get it, the perfect example of how much of a breeze it'll be is during the second battle with Fujin and Raijin just summoning Doomtrain makes both of them not do anything for the remainder of the battle.

I basically finished the game with nothing but Limit Breaks and in some causes towards the end with Selphie's Full-Cure to quickly get rid of the Hell's Judgement attack. But I mostly had in my party Squall, Rinoa, and Selphie but on certain causes I'd put in Zell to replace Selphie or Irvine and Quistis was my final substitute depending on what party members were given to me at the start of the final battles.
