Dual-Wielding Explanation

Did anyone else appreciate how they explained why Roxas could dual-wield? I was quite happy to find out that it was all due to Xion's memories and powers being re-absorbed into Roxas. I was always wondering why, and I love how they finally explained it.

Nomura: Well, it isn’t that Roxas has physically inherited Xion’s keyblade, but more that Xion has awakened it within Roxas. Xion woke something up inside Roxas that let him duel Wield. I think we can say with a high level of certainty it has to do with Xigbar seeing her as Ven, indicating Roxas and/or Sora have a strong bond to him, and he's an established wielder.

Ah I see. That makes the issue 50x complex. I guess we can't say anything for certain until BBS comes out, however we can say that he did inherit something from Xion which allowed him, and then Sora to dual-wield.

My money's riding on the Memories she had that pertained to Ven. He's an established wielder in some shape or form. He'd be able to give Roxas and Sora an extra Keyblade, depending on what of him they have inside them *coughheartcough*

That's a safe assumption, however we don't know if that's 100% correct. Seeing as how there is no verification whatsoever that Ven is a keyblade master. All we know is that Master Xehanort & Master E~something are keyblade wielders. The three apprentices: Roxas, Terra, and Ven are not able to wield a keyblade so far from what we've seen, but only keyblade replicas. However we do not know what the future of BBS holds...so we'll see.

I think Sora has a heart two times as big, because he has to hearts. They got split up along with his powers when Roxas was born. Two keyblades, two hearts.

Why can Riku dualwield? Xehanort.

That makes absolutely no sense.
If anything he had an extra Heart inside him, period. Lol Ven.

Well I mean maybe his heart absorbed the other heart making one big one. Making a special kind that could hold Kairi's.

Then hers was released when he stabbed himself, but since the other heart was kind of part of him now, it went with his nobody instead of just being released like the others.

Hearts aren't containers, Bodies are. Kairi's Heart was inside Sora's body while being separate from him. Fusing two Hearts together would logically give us a new Heart that is neither the original component. Arguably how we got Apprentice Xehanort, going by your theory of choice.
Sora is Sora is Sora is a Sora that has Sora's Heart. Saying he split this extra Heart from him would make him someone he's not after Kairi restored him, yet alas, Sora was still Sora - indicating he had the same Heart as he always had. Nothing happened to it save for losing its Body.

Well his body was taken by Roxas. So he was a wandering heart. Roxas was the one with the container. So there had to be two hearts for both of them to be able to wield.

That's the likely explanation that Nomura himself half supports by certain slips of the tongue, yes.
However between saying "Sora had an extra Heart in him to give Roxas" and saying "Sora had a fused Heart that defused when Roxas was born" there's quite a long way to go.

Nothing has been confirmed so far on the Keyblades held by the Apprentices in BbS, so there's no spoiler there. :O All we know is they have no Keychains, which can be seen in the secret ending to KH2: FM, so...

Also, it's quite obvious that Ven and them can wield Keyblades. >_> Masters they are not, but Wielders they are, at least by the end if not at the beginning. I don't think you'd be able to be labeled an Apprentice without being able to Wield, lol.

Mmhm. Much like how I see Riku with the Soul Eater. He must've had some ability that let him use it, as it behaves like a Keyblade as far as the usage and "storage" go, but it wasn't a Keyblade.
Wonder if we'd be able to draw more similarities once BBS is released and we know what's up with their Keyblades.
