Default An attempt to explain the "Dream Scene".

Please note that there will be SPOILERS here hence, the Spoilers section.
Alrighty then, I've been noticing how a bunch of people have been trying to figure out the Scene in which what seems to be Roxas is on the Destiny Islands and sees a figure which turns out to be Zexion. The scene continues to show Zexion talking to Riku, who appears on the other side of Roxas. A circling discussion ensues and who we thought was Roxas, changes into several other people including; Sora, Xion, and Riku. The main question here is Why?

Well, my guess on the matter is this, and this is where the major spoilers come in: Sora, Xion, and Roxas are technically all the same entity, right? Well, them being connected in such a unique way has led to many different problems including Xion's appearance changes {more due to her being then Sora, methinks}, Roxas' odd dreams, and Sora being unable to awake with his memories linked out.

By being pretty much the same person, they share alot of things. Now, Xion and Roxas prove to have a very sensitive balance in Days, so when Xion began to be stressed, Roxas got stressed. What if, when Xion came in contact with Riku and entered Oblivion once again, she {being a creature of memories} ended up picking up some of the events that had happened with him? And if she did, then Roxas would've felt something as well? That's what I think anyway.

So, Xion, carrying these loose memories and all these stresses over her being, has a nightmare. Roxas, being tied with her, shares parts of the nightmare with her. Sora, being the source of the two, ends up replacing thier faces at the end and only proves to them just what their being really is. Riku's face appears by being connected with Both Sora, his friend, and Xion, who he'd just met and got a glimpse of her true being. Riku and Zexion circling them, in my opinion, represents the spiraling struggle that's going on in Xion's and Roxas' minds while also echoing the memories that Xion picked up.

I'm typing this from the top of my head, so I may {most likely} have messed up on a point or two. I don't do threads like this often, so I wanna hear what you all think.

That's about the most common theory going around, me thinks. And if not, it's one I yammered on about often enough XD;
It makes sense. Xion could've picked it up or at least 'saw' it seeing how Riku was nearby. Arguably related to his time in CO and being nearby. Roxas being at the immediate area while that even took place could explain him not remembering that day's mission and being part of the 'Dream'.

You started out nice but this doesn't make a lot of sense to me :\ I'd sooner blame them fusing into Sora because they ARE Sora, like you yourself said. The reason Xion looks like Kairi is because those are the Memories that were delinked first in CO. That is what Xion hence had to base herself on, and stayed like that since that's what Roxas and Axel got used to seeing. Sora wasn't an active force, nor is he the type to so cruelly show people what they are. Not to mention Xion by then KNEW from before what she was and Roxas was still clueless so what's the point.
As for Riku, that's not even a valid explanation. Xion, a being made to absorb Sora's Memories and eventually become a proper clone of him, saw Memories that had all but nothing to do with Sora and belonged to someone else. The reason she looked like Kairi was because Sora's Memories of Kairi were inside her. The reason she ultimately looked like Sora was because she all but ate up all of his Memories save for the ones of Riku Roxas still harbored. Why would she look like Riku, for such shallow reasons, when everything else leads us to believe a lot more shit hit the fan in light of the nature of Xion's being?

Eh, everything confuses me with these. This is what made the most sense and so, I thought, "Why not build on it?"

Writing habits again. I need to read these things over throughly 'fore I post... ANYWAY, I meant by Sora showing up, it was some inner knowing in them coming up. Not, cruel master Sora. O.o

Riku... Just loses me at everything. *headdesk* I could spend hours trying to piece together that boy's story and still get it wrong. Xion doesn't help either... So, Riku=Instant loss of track for me.
