I STILL don't understand some things.

I've read all the secret reports(I unlocked ALMOST all of them but gave up, some of those challenges are just WAY too difficult, so I read the rest online) and they didn't entirely help.

I still don't understand what the title means, seriously, sure it takes place over 358 days but you don't even see day 179(358 divided by 2) and I can't think of any good reason why the 2 is there.

What the heck is up with the Xion fight? Why would the organization have you put those devices there? If their purpose was to give Xion super-weapons and the such, it seems odd that the Organization would do that. Didn't they want her NOT to return to Sora? Why is Xion all "Assimilate! Assimilate!" with Roxas? She doesn't need Roxas specifically to kill her does she? And if she wants to die why does she put up such a fight?

And I'm sure this is something everybody is wondering, WHAT THE HECK IS UP WITH THE CUTSCENE ON DESTINY ISLANDS WITH ZEXION!?

I understand it's a cutscene taken from Re:COM but Sora wasn't even in that cutscene! Why would Roxas have a dream about it!? Shouldn't he and Xion only have SORA'S memory's? Also if it WAS a dream how could he have seen KH2!Kairi there? Sora doesn't see her again until MUCH later in KH2! They shouldn't know what she looks like! Plus Didn't KH2!Kairi say she wasn't going to that island until she remembered every little detail about Sora? The entire scene makes no sense! It doesn't even give relevance to the plot! It's just trippy!

Can anybody explain these questions!? Please!

The only answer, I think I can give is that 358/2 Days represents the 358 days Roxas spent in the organization and that Sora's memories were flowing into different people, hence the "/2" part. That's what I heard anyway.

The other questions I sort of question myself, but all I can do is speculate.

I don't see how memory flowing into different people is represented by the /2.
And if it was supposed to be Roxas+Xion wouldn't it be 358x2 days?

It's read as "over two". That means the 358 Days were shared by two people.
The most common and accepted meaning is that it really is Roxas and Xion, sharing their 358 Days as two parts of the same being that are separate.

I don't understand that Beach scene, but only because I don't know who's who.

So you see Roxas on the beach. He sees Xion walking across the bridge. Xion becomes Zexion. Roxas starts getting some major headache. Then he transforms into Xion, then Riku, then Sora before becoming Xion again! So where the heck did the real Roxas go? We see him later running into a corridor of darkness, but it just makes no sense!

That scene was never really explained. We can assume with Roxas admitting to not remembering his mission on that day that being so close to Xion while she was going through the motions and suffering herself from the awkward Memories, that he was affected as well.
I like to believe that them, while being parts of Sora, being exposed to Memories that belonged to Riku was what caused that sort of reaction, but it's a theory at best at present.

She wasn't. Roxas mentioned later however that he saw a girl that looked like Xion.
He either could've been talking about Xion herself, seeing how she was there with Riku, or Kairi, whom he saw somewhere along his mission.

Didn't Nomura also said it was meant to be read Three Five Eight over Two? I don't see the point of reading it like that if the meaning is solely based on the number of days... Now I'm not an english native, so maybe I just don't see how it is important to read them this way.

Until a better explanation surfaces, I'd sooner blame it on
1) the name's too long like that.
2) poor Japanese people have a hard enough time with it without the "hundred" etc.

Ok thanks. I'm not really too confused about the fact that it's Riku's memory rather than Sora's, but yeah, just who is who. Everyone keeps transforming!

But the problem with the theory that it's "Over 2" as in Roxas and Xion is that the Days comes AFTER the 2. If it was supposed to be over two as in over two people, it would be 358 days over 2. Not 358 over 2 days.

It was confirmed by Nomura that despite it being written "358/2", it is to be read as "358 Days over two". Hence no problem. He also confirmed that it being a story told of 358 Days "over two people" is one of the many meanings they were actually going for.

The devices harnessed Sora's Memories from the areas they were placed in, and all but pumped them into Xion, making her stronger.

The title is read 358 Days over two. It's assume that the "over two" refers to two people, mainly Roxas and Xion. But Nomura said a person can draw a few different means from the name, so he wants people to decide for them selves what the title means.

The Org's goal was to have Roxas and Xion fight in order for one of them to absorb the other so they could use them for Kingdom Hearts, and keep Sora asleep forever in Xion won. They placed the devices around in preperation for the fight to give Xion the edge against Roxas. Xion attacked Roxas on her own in order to force him to kill her, and thus saving Roxas from being the one to disappear, as well as allowing Sora to wake up. Xion knew that Roxas wouldn't just kill her if she asked him too.

Xion was the one dreaming about it. It was Xion's dream, not Roxas'.

It was very much a dream. Kairi never appeared in the dream, but the real Roxas may have seen Kairi in passing. And she didn't say she wasn't going back to the islands until KH2. Besides, Roxas never even says where abouts he saw Kairi, it could have been on the main island itself.

About Xion's dream, it could be that she somehow obtained Riku's memories, or at least saw them for an instant. This could possibly be due to her being asleep in his arms, or the fact that she was born in Castle Oblivion, or just because she travelled to Castle Oblivion, in which case she may have obtained them at that time. But that would mean that memories can attach themselves to places, or places have memories, which sounds a bit odd. I'm all for her being close to Riku and being made from memories that triggered the nightmare.
