Kairi complaint (spoilers, duh)

Duh. What else would I write about? 8D

Just wanted to hear who else felt iffy about Xion looking like Kairi basically for the sake of basing SoKai, when just about everything in the game goes against those Memories really mattering.

She got the Keyblade. I fail to see how that would say she's based on Memories of Kairi.
She remembered locking the Keyhole in Agrabah.
She remembered Castle Oblivion.
She ended up looking like Sora, showing that she had a lot more than just his Memories of Kairi.

To top it all, Nomura said this himself in the Ultimania:

I understand that Xion would no doubt take more after Sora than after Kairi, but then you'd think they would make less of a deal about Xion having the Memories of Kairi o_O I mean, it's END-GAME. Sora isn't waking up not because Xion ate up his Memories of his lady love, but his Memories, period. Hence why the Memory restoration stopped completely. At this point Xion having Sora's Memories of Kairi is all but redundant as Namine herself said she couldn't just snatch the Memories from Xion. Not like she could everything else, but those were the last Memories left.
Huff. Frustration.

That's about my two cents in the matter, let's hear yours.
And if anyone can tell me where we find out when and how Xion's link to Sora's Memories was established, I'll be a happy beever (I know that's a theory of mine I had down right - that it was in the Xemnas battle in the first Final Mix, har. I just wanna know when they said it as the Ultimania didn't mention it and I'm missing a few secret reports I'll probably just read online somewhere)

Yet another Kairi rant? Once again it is quite nice to see more anti Kairi Xion love.

Eh, it seemed more to be for the sole purpose to confuse people than to base any romantic pairing. From what I understood, she looked like Kairi at first because when it came to the memories/data used to create her, collected from the Xemnas battle, at the time Sora's strongest memory was of Kairi. So she took her form.

But this is based off of the notions arrived at from the Japanese release, i haven't gotten there in the English version yet to see the more detailed explanation.

Namine said that Xion is the Kairi Sora remembers.

Xemnas said they duplicated Sora's memories to duplicate his power.
Now, when they duplicated those memories, the memories sampled were Sora's strongest memories- the ones of the person most "special" to Sora.

He never went in and stole Sora's memories, he just happened to copy the most important ones, resulting in Xion's appearance as Kairi.

The effect of this is that, with two people having the same memories, Sora's other memories started flowing out, through Roxas, and into Xion, changing her form into what she was intended to be- a Sora replica.

Nothing in the game goes against those memories mattering.

It does with the point in the game where they bothered explaining her. Like I said - by then, Xion had so much that coming and telling her she was keeping Sora from waking up because she had the Memories of Kairi was rather silly.

So it all comes down to Xemnas snatching Memories of Kairi instead of of Riku's or something? Fun. More Say-So basis for this couple :I grrr. At least they barely mentioned it.

Where was it mentioned again, btw? I wanna see how they phrased it.

It's never explicitly stated how they retrieve those initial memories. Or at least, off the top of my head, I don't recall them every saying it.

Xemnas just says that they managed to duplicate his memories.

We can infer that it has to do with Xemnas' confrontation with Sora because this was the only time the Organization had made contact with Sora at that point. Xemnas did the "memory sample" before the battle and the timing is perfect- He had gone to see Sora on Day 6, and Xion comes on to the scene on Day 7.

Namely if you don't believe Kairi is Sora's MIP, Xion just as easily could've been a Riku lookalike. Fun.

You're right though. It could have been a Riku lookalike- if Riku was Sora's "MIP," which he isn't.

But does Namine know how Sora feels about those memories though? She handles them sure, but she could have been merely a witness and intepreted the obvious. Memories and feelings are two completely different things. Just because Kairi is with Sora all the time does not mean that she is his MIP. I know the games want us to believe she is, but I'm looking at things from another view here. Unless it has been stated that Namine actually knows Sora's feelings concerning his memories?

Going by CoM, Memories and Feelings aren't connected. Hence despite the Memories of Sora from Namine are fake, the feelings are real.
Namine was what, a week old Nobody with no Memories? :\ give her a girl that's always around Sora and the Org feeding her about how that person is Sora's MIP, no doubt in order for them to base Xion, and you get the picture as a whole. From there on out Days and CoM feed each other about plot that nullifies the SoKai references. Sweet.

Well, if that's all there was to it and it was never expanded upon, no more point to this thread.
